Why was it OK to have Super Bowl I, V, X, but not L?
I named my daughter Megan Marie, in honor of the millenium, even though she was born in 1999. Her initials are really MML which is 2050.
I am a long suffering (before we stopped suffering) Patriots fan.
In before the "Super Bowl LIE" posts after the Pats win again this year.

Because people would think it stands for loser, i.e. Roger Goodell.
Super Bowl XXXXX would have looked pretty cool. It would have also helped promote all the “sex workers” who are going to descend on the Bay Area.

Super Bowl L would look weird. It's a shame. Now no one will have a reason to learn Roman Numerals.
I’m actually kind of disappointing they went away from it this year, but that’s because I’m a big fan of incidental humor. I call Superbowl 30 as the Porn Bowl, 37 is the Pirate Bowl, 40 is Superbowl Extra Large, and I was looking forward to Superbowl Large. Alas no.
I’m just GLAD it’s not Super Bowl LGBTQ or some other Gay or Homo extravaganza.
