Sohhhh, yer saying, death will definitely kill you???
The Rule of 3’s: 3 hours in severe inclement weather; three days w/o water; three weeks w/o nourishment.
I went to the range today. Beautiful weather, saw a chocolate `57 Chevy on the way there, few shooters. No misfires, good groups.
It was a good day.
Some folks on YouTube have videos on how to build your own camp stove. As long as you can find wood, you’re in business.Cook food and boil water to make it safe.
I assume fantasy planning is packing up the car for a drive to the mountains or the beach house
Or stockpiling ammo and thinking you will hold off the zombies once they figure out where you are and that you have something worth defending
And a gun
Just look at those videos of refugee invaders storming the eu borders right now
Yep. That is the ticket.
First bleach has a shelf life I prefer calcium hypochlorite.
Then there a whole host of contaminates that bleach won’t touch. You will need a good filter.

11. Your own government kills you.
Despite all that, it's neither a large nor heavy back.
Number 9 and number 4 can’t both be right. It’s not like the when the SHTF that suddenly wind sprints are going to be mandatory and all fat people are going to keel over from heart attacks. Fat is just calorie storage, not that most people will stay fat that long in a true SHTH scenario, but the fat will have an short term advantage.
Seriously, a good idea... I did deep woods survival for quite a long while in my life, and the single most difficult thing to overcome is something to boil water in.
I don't put much stock in carrying all kinds of stuff, preferring to have the tools to get what I need from the land... If you don't have tin, you're down to dropping hot rocks in a wooden bowl or something... That tin cup is a godsend...
Oh, I am a Girl Scout leader !
So I have stoves made out of #10 cans and ovens made out of foil lined cardboard boxes plus all kinds of other experience using foil, rocks, sticks, cooking in paper bags etc
Next project is to get the kids to make some tea light candle heaters with clay pots, see if we can heat a room to survival temp this winter
My favorite subject is to teach the girls primitive camping
But there are some great new modern gadgets like those little back pack stoves with tablet fuel !
I have that too. Besides being prepared in an emergency, I save money on antibiotics in the rare case of a sinus infection or other need for antibiotics - my pharmacist confirmed that they are the same pills from the same factory as the ones she sells. The fish version in bottles of 100 is cheaper than my copayment on medicines.
Amen to that!
Excellent! So many ways to achieve the same result, you just have to be creative.
I used to go out on five or six day hiking trips. Titanium cook ware is the best. It’s strong, light, and easy to clean.
Not you! You have been selected to turn the lights out.
I have several 10 day courses of antibiotics stored away
“ Day After Armageddon” scared the crap out of me
I think antibiotics could make excellent barter items but it would be hard to turn away anyone with a serious infection
Reminds me I need to order a home step test kit
I am just startng to delve into essential oils and medicinal herbs , maybe if I had to travel I could become a folk healer
I had so much fun doing that with the girls years ago...I wish I could join you and do it again.
We went snow camping and even built snow huts to break the wind...yes we had a lodge when it got just too cold about 3 AM...the younger scouts welcomed us in and shared their warm beds too!!
I loved those years!!
The girls LOVE doing survival skills
We have done 3 camps using the Hunger Games themes
Of course we do it all for fun but I always think that someday someone’s life may be saved because of what they were taught
Sounds exhausting
Can’t Humblegunner do it?
