Here we go again. A Whataburger fast-food restaurant in Lewisville, Texas reportedly refused to serve two off-duty police officers last night because they were cops:

What’s the ‘we’ stuff?
Whataburger is the best, what is being done to remedy this injustice.
I guess we cant ALL be perfect. LOL
So these things get exposed and various corporate HQ’s issue apologies, etc etc. Then people forget about it.
What’s to prevent the same (or similar) stupid employees with attitude problems from mishandling the food they serve? (Which most likely won’t be visible to public eyes.)
Most of the restaurants I’ve been to in Lewisville were staffed by either the owner & his family or Latinos.
I'm visiting my son in a town right next to Lewisville. I have been going to some fast food restaurants. My guess is that the clerk is Latino.
Whataburger did not refuse them service.
BLACK PEOPLE refused them service.
Big diff.
They should be unemployed YESTERDAY.
Or one or more of these cops could sue Whataburger for discrimination.

Oh, you know the ethnicity of the employee...
That one’s from a different source; not considered a “duplicate”.

We were appalled to hear of an employee refusing service to two officers, as we have proudly served first responders across our system for decades. As soon as we heard of this isolated incident, we began our own internal investigation overnight. The employee that refused service is no longer employed with Whataburger. Weve also invited the officers back today so we can apologize in person and make this right.

I spent a few months in Houston in ‘09. I was not impressed with Whataburger.
Not a fan of chopped lettuce on my burger.
In-N-Out is good, but the patties are so thin.
The ketchup is the secret sauce.
In an Out is the JV.. Whataburger and DQ are king/queen in Texas.
If the cops were gay this would make national news.
Whataburger rocks. They recently were named the 2015 Champion for Fast Companys Best Burger in America contest. I think the award was well deserved.

That city is by Irving Texas the Muslim capital of Texas. Bush got his money from the drug companies but Perry sold Texas out to the Muslims. I know it isn’t politically correct but I am following the money not the race or business. All politicians sell out to someone I guess.
I don’t think cops are a protected class.
(Don’t get me started on the whole “protected class” stuff.)
I think a civil suit by a cop or several cops could get traction. But public opinion is the better arbiter. If they get enough heat from the public they will start reminding these Amish employees that the policy is everybody gets served.
There is a very simple, but somewhat expensive, solution to this issue. It is modeled on the old regimental punishment.
One afternoon close all Whatburgers within a 50 mile radius of this store and assemble every employee in that store’s parking lot. Bring the offending employee out. Have him/her surrender his/her hat, apron, and all other pieces of his/her uniform. Give that employee his/her last paycheck and severance pay. Tear up his/her time card. Escort him/her off the property.
This is absolutely a clear demonstration that that behavior regardless of gender, race, or religious belief is not acceptable. It will serve as a clear waning what will happen, company wide, if anyone else wants to copy cat it.
Other fast food chains will know who a very bad apple is. And they will have to follow suit in this kind of punishment if any of their employees misbehave or lose business - lots of business!
Cruel - not really. You are judged in any functional society by how you behave towards others, your superiors, peers, and subordinates. Based what has been happening lately I have to wonder if our society is still functional.
