Apple introduces “revolutionary” technology already offered by Roku... and an iPen that came with my Note 3 and didn’t even cost me $100.
Epic day.
But I guess that’s just FUD.

Please - no more Apps. Can’t shut them off; they turn themselves back on, try to update, constantly glitch Win 10 anyway.

If I am not mistaken this is already offered by Amazon Prime TV and Roku.
Having both I see nothing new under the sun and predict that tweaking smart phones, tablets and introducing a TV all at the highest price in the industry is kind of a yawn.

Don’t keep up with this sort of thing much. What is the source of the signal, or programming for Apple
TV? Is it over the internet, or from cable and satellite channels?

I guess my disappointments are many.. 1080p, wow, welcome to 2008. Oh, look, yet another stupid remote for the living room - gosh, if only people carried touch screen devices that are networkable...and might even be already on someone’s wrist!

So, why should I invest hundreds/thousands of dollars (?) to replace my $49 Roku device that delivers all my NetFlix and Hulu content today?
I have a web based DVR service to record the things I want for playback later also.
I don't see anything "earthshaking" in today's announcement. Analysts are asking "Can Apple save TV?" I think that's a B.S. question. Conventional TV is dead. Cord cutting is the "new thing" and it's only going to get more popular as time goes on.
Ok, so what am I missing in today's announcement?
Oh, and the Apple "Pencil" ... I remember Steve Jobs saying if Apple ever delivered a device with a stylus to run the other way. Heresy! (Before I go further, I really could use a fine point stylus for my iPad mini. Getting my old, fat, arthritic fingers to press any "button" on its screen is an exercise in futility.)

It's amazing that people complain because it doesn't offer 4k video.
I have thousands of hours of video on my Mac and not one of them is 4k
My questions are:
How much video is really 4k?
How many people have the TV or equipment to record/display 4k?
And how much bandwidth does 4k really use?
