ISIS likes headlines. ISIS doesn’t like a big fight. They attack when they can completely overwhelm by numbers and surprise. In Iraq, the ersatz national forces run and hide when ISIS arrives, but after months of planning they and the other Iranian proxy forces in the country counterattack and drive them out. Trouble is, they come back. It took months of fighting ISIS (and Turkey), but the Kurds ejected ISIS from the map flyspeck Kobane. ISIS fought hard, because losing was such bad PR. It’s never worked out to say that ISIS has peaked, so I won’t. But whatever new org arises from the latest ashes will doubtless make them look like a dramatization of a world war given by mimes.
And, just as in that conflict, the longer the world waits to really address the problem in a meaningful way (as in: when we have real leaders at the helm), it becomes bigger and will cost far more lives to bring it to an end.
I'd be willing to say a division or two of USMC could wipe those ISIS bastards off the map in short order. Wish they could, the world is tired of their lazy, pick-only-on-the-weakest terrorism. They're nothing but pussy bullies. Let's see them take on a true fighting force, they'd run away like the Iraqi Army in the Gulf War!

Quibble -- The US had some technical advantages, the Germans had it in other areas, but the only one that would have been overwhelming (a-bomb) wasn't available in the European / Med theater; by the time the US was engaging in combat with the Wehrmacht or Waffen SS, in N Africa, the attrition had been chewing away at the German forces, and the US was continuously building up everything needed. The Sherman tank wasn't a patch to the German armor, but the US built something north of 30,000 of them for the European / Med theater alone. By 1943 in Italy the tide had turned on their eastern front and the terrain became their best friend. By 1944 the collapse was on, their airforce was in tatters, and they were fighting a two-front war, and on their western front when threatened with being cut off, their soldiers were fleeing without their vehicles and armor. The US army did its usual fantastic job, but we should be grateful we were fighting them at the end of their strength.
There's a strong sentiment of "not our circus, not our monkeys" among conservatives and self-described conservatives, and the Demagogic Party faithful and flat-out left wouldn't care if all the monasteries, convents, churches, and aborted babies were bulldozed into a single pile for burning.
They should capture these guys, give them small brushes and glue, put them in pink jumpsuits and make them put it all back together again - right. Then hang them.

Our country is no longer America, but SODOM!!!! Ask any Serb, Ukrainian, Romanian, Bulgarian, etc. when they’re forced to stage “gay” parades (with most of the marchers begin foreigners) by the US State Department! Ask those bakers in Oregon, and that county clerk in Kentucky.
Ask any American patriot, who was forced to hear the President say “love won”, and to see him illuminate the White House with rainbow colors!
Our whole national life is poisoned with queerdom, and it will take a lot of doing to flush the poison out! And all too many of our fellow citizens prefer Sodom to America, which will make things that much harder to remedy!!!!
These are the people coming to Europe and soon to America.
