Trump is right not taking on the Kim Davis Issue
Vanity | 9/3/2015 | Dr. James Schulze, D.Min. (PEARUSA)

Posted on 09/04/2015 7:10:11 AM PDT by theoldmarine

Donald Trump is taking a lot of heat from people who would like to see him support the dear lady, Kim Davis, in Kentucky. Those same people, if they think about it are asking him to commit political suicide. Trump is right, for now. Sorry. Everyone, and I include myself, is disappointed, but not surprised that 4 liberal justices and one who has always been sympathetic to the 'queer class' decided that homosexuals are a minority and deserve the protection of law and equal rights. They have also ruled that the crucial parts of the 'Defense of Marriage Act' are unconstitutional. Deal with it like adults fellas. The lady in Kentucky has every right to 'civil disobedience', if that's what it is. Others say that she is the only one actually obeying the law. In other words there is no Kentucky Statute authorizing her to give a license to a homosexual couple. She may be right on that, but it will be a long slog through the courts to prove it, by which time the election will be decided. Civil disobedience on a massive scale however would not reverse the legal process. The only way that marriage will ever be legally defined as 'between a man and a woman' in the country again would be through an amendment to the constitution, which is not going to happen when you consider the demographics, the support for and promotion of LGBT in the media and educational system, and the Federal bureaucracy. Or, perhaps, a few states could try seceding again. Donald is smart. He wants to get elected. We can't be dumb enough to ask him to die for what is, unfortunately, a lost cause. The problem here is that absolute moral judgements, not backed by the authority of divinity are just strong opinions. And, in the court of public opinion and in the court of law the opinion that gays should be denied marriage benefits has lost; and we no longer have a majority of people in this country who are committed to the absolute authority of the God revealed in the Bible. If you want to turn this country around in a moral sense... get off of Trump and get on your knees. In the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley is a Bible that he treasured and got from his mother. In it's glass case the book is opened and verses are underlined... they read... "...if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chron 7:14

Whatever you think about Trump, aren’t you interested in how his lawyers sort through it? It will give us an indication if his judicial appaointees will be better than those of GWB (who gave us this Judge, a connected political appointee)

“The hell it won’t. It worked for the homos. Riots, lawsuits, intimidation and official malfeasance on a grand scale is what brought them from being a criminal class to a protected class.”

You mean by protesting, marching, and lobbying? Those thugs. /s

While the right did the usual sit back and be lazy routine because protesting is stuff “hippies do”, only to wake up and find gays are now a protected class, and NOW expect a revolution to boil up?

“Every Christian in America - and that used to be just about everyone - should be on the streets demanding the take down of the legal system if this is what it produces. “

Revolutions are not instant affairs. Those people spent decades to get what they wanted. The right in America is too addicted to instant gratification and will tire of “revolution” when it cuts into their leisure time too much, unfortunately.

Agreed. This is not the hill to die on and unfortunately most Americans today are cowards and will go to great lengths to not appear as racist or “homophobic”. PC has taken hold on this issue and people are afraid they could get fired for their views.

The media is hoping he will take a side so they can devote 24 hours a day to crucifying him no matter which side he takes. By leaving it at the SC decision, he steals their thunder.

Also, remember, you can’t legislate morality. Sexual sin is sin against your own body. Abortion steals another person’s life.

The only Trump apologism that should go on right now is that we are very sorry that Trump has struck this attitude and very sorry that what he did promise to champion (which, face it, did get a lot more buy-in than Cruz did) may go down the tubes as a result.

“And Cruz telling us to bow down to our globalist masters? “

What does this mean? Are you off your meds?

"You’re right. Cruz is not what he appears to be. Ultimately, he’s a Bushie. And his wife is CFR. But he knows how to throw red meat to the Christian right, and keep them salivating."

Says the troll who has already been pegged as a retread, and whose alter ego, who signed up the same day, has been zotted.

OMG Trump didn't use the ‘right’ political words to satisfy the people of the land...how foolish of him...

Do you know how much sense that makes? What do you think this election is all about? This election is to get RID of this kind of p.c. bull crap, this ‘political speak’ crap...

Talk like a human with common sense....”I'm not going to stand on anything but the law of the land until I know more about it.” what more do you want him to say?

And WHO put these people in these OFFICES???? WE DID, so who is the blame for this mess??? WE ARE!!!

Republican front-runner Donald Trump said Friday that he wished a Kentucky county clerk, Kim Davis, was not jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, but he added that the Supreme Court has ruled and it is “the law of the land.”

“You have to go with it. The decision’s been made, and that is the law of the land,” the real estate mogul said Friday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

My understanding is a ‘vanity’ post is where you are not posting an article or a link to an article by a source, but rather writing your own ‘article’. If I am wrong on that someone please correct me. (Last sentence unnecessary on FR)

~smile, I read it and agree with you. If we are a nation of laws, then you don’t pick and choose which laws to abide by, you change the laws that are wrong.

Make that, the law is a wicked ass, about as morally sound now as the old chattel slavery laws were.

He knows more than what you think he knows....

He is a straight talker...he only shoots his mouth off when he knows what he is talking about...and because he doesn't speak ‘political speak’ doesn't mean he doesn't know what is being said...

Why do you think he's so popular, why do you think the msm’s and talking heads are after him, because he is a straight talker and they can't stand not being ‘babied’ to....

Cut the p.c. bull crap and say it like it is....

Oh? No matter WHAT they call for? That was not an excuse in Nuremberg. If you didn’t deny your support to the system you were hanged.

Actually, when all our tax money is pooled, we have no way of knowing where it is going. I oppose war but I don’t know if my little amount of taxes has gone to the Dept. of Defense or to build highways.

Apples and oranges, but you know that.

Facts are facts. Cruz is not as clean as the wind driven snow. None of them are. Deal with it.
