Walked into a drugstore yesterday and the "lady" told me how much it would be, I could not understand her ?Spanish?, asked her again, still the same - she turned the screen around and pointed to it - REALLY - this is still America. One can only wish! But to give credit the lady is WORKING - not using our system.
That’s one of the first things I would do.

It would be a home run campaign issue to boot - and tailor made for Trump. Actually, would help anyone - but it does have that Trump essence about it.

Years ago (2007) was working in and around the Miami area. Somewhere in North Miami I stopped at a Mickie D’s. I honestly had to point to the items on the menu boards to get what I wanted.
I’m sure she was pissy about turning the screen around too. We’re supposed to learn her language.

well, I think over time the US will simplify Spanish and merge it with English and this will spread to Latin america as well — so Spanglish would be a separate language that is purely of the Americas
We need to rename San Francisco ‘Grand Harbor’ and erase every other vestige of Spanish from this country.
A few months back at a Walmart in Minot, ND I approached a Walmart Employee that could not speak a word of English.

I hate it when everywhere I call, it’s press 1 for English, 2 for Spanish, and then you hear a recording of a person speaking Spanish in your ear. Either learn Enlgish - or go back where you came from.
Too bad Trump’s list of three issues didn’t incorporate English-Only as #4. More people would jump on his bandwagon. All the money we spend printing government documents, including ballots, in multiple languages is outrageous.
The suicidal embrace of “diversity” has done more to harm America than any single issue. (I’m putting abortion in a separate category by itself.) In fact, societies are not torn apart by too much homogeneity* but by too many irreconcilable differences. We used to be the melting pot. We are now a pot full of squabbling entitlements. Make English the single language. (Press 1 for alternative languages.) Make the schools teach the real American history and how dangerous socialism has been for the great unwashed masses so treated.

No....he speaks rich boy NYC. I speak NY proper but can slip into my Bronx Fugetaboutit, if I need to.
3 of my Grandparents grew up speaking Italian at home as very young children. My parents were not spoken to in anything but English in the home as “we're in America...we speak English” and they only heard Italian when their grandparents were around.
Every once in a while my grandparents friends came over and tried speaking to me in Italian. I was totally dumbfounded. Though I can curse and order food in an Italian restaurant in pretty good Italian pronunciation.
Keep some of your culture if you must.....BUT SPEAK ENGLISH!
My ancestors came from German and French speaking countries. They prided themselves in learning American culture, the English language and both of them changed the spelling and pronunciation of their last names to be more American.
But to give credit the lady is WORKING - not using our system.

I’m second generation American by way of Sicily. I started to pick up some of the lingo when I was a very young boy from my aged Grandfather.
My Grandmother came down on me like a hawk.
‘We’re in America now! Speak English!’
This was in 1954 when I was nine years old.
End of discussion.
Probably has several identities-—each collecting US benefits....and voting.
We need to make public the names and amounts all of these characters are wire-transferring back to Mexico and Central America.....
Trump estimated $22 billion goes back over the border annually.
Need to put a fee on the wires to make up for the tax dollars they’re leaching via ‘benefits’.
