Joe Holliday was born in 1988 with the rare condition cloacal exstrophy
His genitals were never formed, leaving doctors stumped at his birth
In 1998 he legally became Joella after living as a girl since the age of one
Now, aged 27, he tells of his transition to become male once again
Mum remembers it vividly the look of horror on the midwives faces as I was swiftly lifted up and away from her after my birth.
So what is it? she asked. A boy or a girl?
All in good time, one of them responded as she rushed to wrap me in a white sheet, determined Mum would not see me. Her colleague at Warneford Hospital, in Leamington Spa, Warwicks, had already darted out the door.
Weve talked about it often, Mum and I. How she felt the sudden change in atmosphere the moment I was delivered. How my dad stood there silently at her side, apparently in shock.
But can you just tell me what Ive got? Is it a boy or a girl? she asked, more urgent now.
Not yet, the doctor replied.
Not yet? Mum was indignant. What do you mean, not yet? Cant you tell the difference?
But Mum, prone on the bed, couldnt have seen what the others already had that my abdomen, pelvis and entire mid-section were so malformed, so incomplete, that no one actually knew the answer to her question.
Instead, she watched in silence as I was wheeled away in a see-through cot, tightly wrapped so that only my head was visible.

Oh FFS.
In agony of “Brain Damage”.
Happens. Rarely.
Not frequent enough to upend society over, though.
So, if he goes missing do we put his picture on a carton of Half & Half?
It took several weeks for the results to come back. Back in the endocrinologists office, I scanned the paperwork and my eyes fell upon the letters XY. Male.He was geneticly a boy, and they decided to make a girl out of him.
The chromosome test should not be treated in isolation, he was saying. We must treat these results as a small part of the entire picture.
But the results were XY?
Well, yes, but due to the cloacal exstrophy, your reproductive organs never developed and the female classification was made, quite properly.
But if I hadnt had cloacal exstrophy, I would have been male?
That is one way of viewing things, but it can be unhelpful to deal in hypotheticals.
Hypotheticals, he called them but this was real life to me.
This is how the Left works. They intentionally attempt to throw emotional monkey wrenches into discussion to deliberately create some type of moral confusion.
The case pointed out in this article is so rare that the incidence of occurrence is probably below 1 in 300,000. In other words, so ridiculously low as not to be statistically significant and in stark contrast to those who are mentally troubled and think they need to mutilate their bodies to imagine themselves as a different sex.
What about those people who hate their right leg and want it amputated because they don’t believe it’s theirs? Should we celebrate that sickness?
No, there is no moral confusion surrounding people like Bruce Jenner. They are emotionally and psychologically troubled people who need help.
‘...you’ve got to keep the lunatics on the path...’
Clearly the initial responders read the headline and not the article. One can’t help but to feel some sympathy for this individual.

...This 1 in a billion medical defect will be played the same way as the fact that 2.7% of the population is gay vs. media hype at 25%+.
Exactly. Its the one out of ten thousand they are cherry picking to justify acceptance of so many other things
“Not frequent enough to upend society over, though”.
...but, in the twisted and confused mind of liberals...

The takeaway, gender is more than conditioning. It is biological.
In this day and age a simple DNA test would have directed the surgical fix. What galls me is seeing prepubertal kids with normal genitals being “gender reassigned” because their parents are convinced they are the wrong gender and brainwash the kid into believing it. There is a huge medical industry specializing in this phony notion of born in the wrong gender and profiting handsomely by providing services
How stupid is this!! Look in your underwear LOL :)
I was once a male trapped in a woman’s body.
And then my mother gave birth.
(Rim shot, please.)
LOL!!! Agreed.
