Donald Trump stood by the controversial comments he made about Fox News host Megyn Kelly and slammed Erik Erickson for disinviting him to a RedState event in a statement Saturday morning.
Erickson, RedState’s editor, rescinded the group’s offer to Trump to speak at the gathering after he insulted Kelly after Thursday’s GOP debate. Instead, he invited Kelly herself.
“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her — wherever,” Trump told CNN Friday.
In his own statement, Trump clarified that statement, claiming that the “whatever” was actually referring to her nose.
“Mr. Trump made Megyn Kelly look really bad — she was a mess with her anger and totally caught off guard,” the statement read. “Mr. Trump said ‘blood was coming out of her eyes and whatever’ meaning nose, but wanted to move on to more important topics. Only a deviant would think anything else.”
“By the way, the guy (Erick Erickson) who made the decision about RedState called Supreme Court Justice David Souter a ‘goat [expletive] child molester’ and First Lady Michelle Obama a ‘Marxist Harpy.’ He was forced to make a humbling apology.”
“Also, not only is Erick a total loser, he has a history of supporting establishment losers in failed campaigns so it is an honor to be uninvited from his event,” the statement continued. “Mr. Trump is an outsider and does not fit his agenda.”
Trump has only clarified his comment on Kelly — not apologized.
Erickson also came under fire in 2013 when he and fellow Fox News pundit Lou Dobbs appeared on Kelly’s show to defend comments they made in regards to a study that claimed that more women were becoming the breadwinners of the family.
“When you look at biology, look at the natural world, the roles of a male and a female in society, and other animals, the male typically is the dominant role. The female, it’s not antithesis, or it’s not competing, it’s a complementary role,” Erickson said then. “We as people in a smart society have lost the ability to have complementary relationships in nuclear families, and it’s tearing us apart.”

I think the reason Trump never stops pummeling his foes until they are turned into a mush, is to put fear of God in the next Trump attacker.
Did you notice none of the candidates at the podium attacked Trump except a feeble attempt by Randy, who was quickly slapped down by Trump and never tried it again.
I agree. I think he’s overplaying his hand. It’s fun sport to watch, but he’s right on the verge of turning people away with his overbearing responses. We already have a thin-skinned president who lashes out at everyone who dares to criticize him. Do we really want another 4-8 years of that? I don’t.
The attempt by the Monolithic Mainstream Media to suppress all contrary speech is at least as important as any of the other very important issues facing our country today.
That’s what I’m talking about - he just won’t let it die. He has a right to hit back when he is attacked. However, there are ways of handling it better than twitter wars. He accused Frank Luntz’s focus group of being phony or something like that. Well, maybe they were or maybe they weren’t - maybe they were honest that he had turned them off. Then he went one step further - he had to tell the whole world that Frank Luntz got a ride in his airplane and kept bugging him for a consulting job. He told about Lindsey Graham coming to him to help get on Fox & Friends, then about Scott Walker and the plague - and Rick Perry. Did I leave anyone out? He’s vindictive, and that isn’t becoming. People went to him because he was generous to campaigns, but, little did those people know that he would years later tattle on them. That is embarrassing and childish - just because someone says something negative about you. I’ve been watching him - as I have all the candidates - and at one time had him in my top 3 - I’m just not so sure any more. He was an unruly child whose dad sent him to military school> I wonder what he did that warranted that? He has some personality flaws.
Yup. Trump's a negotiator and holds his cards close to the vest, and waiting to "trump" his opponents.
I’m female, but the constant whining and victimhood thing disgust me. By the time you are an adult, you ought to know how to handle offensive remarks.
If women want leadership roles they should stop playing victim.
Yeah, tht's about all he does. And the first thing he will do as President is get us into a nuclear war. He's no gentleman, and he's no statesman to represent a great and honorable nation, in my book.
At this point I side with Trump as the debate was a unfortunate mess. But he better cool off and focus on campaigning and getting his policy out. I believe Ted Cruz and Bobby Jindal are better candidates, but they have no chance right now. I am not 100% sure if Trump were to drop out that all the support would go to Cruz. However, Trump is not being given a fair chance. And its the same junk they will be pulling on Cruz if he moves up the polls.
Trump’s issue is being too hot headed and quick to fire back and it has rubbed some people themyrong way and others like it. I like that he stands up for himself, but he tends to rant without thinking. He needs to chill out and relax. Be more craftier in responses. If it comes down to Trump or Bush I would choose Trump. But on strictly policy matters Trump is a populist and I am certain he is not as conservative as Cruz. So should he win, hypothetically, the hope is people advise him on things. Still, I like the guy to an extent.
Cruz is my first choice and I am concerned he won’t make it far so I do hope of a Trump/Cruz ticket. Unless Cruz can overtake first when Trump drops out should it happen. I am not going to go into what ifs.
I do think Chris Wallace ad Megyn Kelly orchestrated a hit job on Trump. And so I see it as more proof of the media and the GOP manipulation each primary. It doesn’t matter what the moderators and what any candidate says now about the debate, it was a trainwreck and I thought it was horribly done. So nothing said will change my mind.

Thanks for your observations. You made good points. One thing is for sure. The debate demonstrated perfectly why Trump needs to keep his options open.
