What's the spot on World Ceres? Can you guess what's creating those unusual bright spots on Ceres? On March 6, NASA's Dawn spacecraft began orbiting Ceres, the largest body in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. Even before the spacecraft arrived at the dwarf planet, images revealed mysterious bright spots that captivated scientists and observers alike. Until Dawn gets a closer look over the next few months, it's anyone's guess what those spots could be. So, go ahead! Cast your vote below. - See more at: http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/dawn/world_ceres/#sthash.bwDwq56N.dpuf

Kind of dumb poll, results at the source after you vote. The point is that no one knows and there is no consensus.

Capitalism. The rest of Ceres is run by communists, like North Korea, so of course it’s dark.

My campfires. I was roasting weenies and the grease dripping off them really turns up the flames. Sorry.

We don't need to know, as long as we get consensus. It's the brave new world of science.

Are you Ceres?
Quite. ;-)
Just as michael medved thinks most conspiracy theories are stupid, but he thinks there is something to the flight 800 one, I think there is something to some of the crop circles. A lot of them are obviously fake, while others are very good and convincing, yet fake. And then others are not explainable.
I don’t know what they mean, but there is a lot of stuff I don’t know. :-)
So far, no “natural” explanation for the bright spots has really made sense. They are sort of “marsh gas” types of explanations. However, once we get better images it may turn out to be a simple explanation that is just kinda unlikely, but accurate in this case.
BTW, the same goes for all the weird stuff on Mars. Some of it is stupid, but some of it is not.
