A Florida landscaper was sentenced to a year in jail on Friday after he intentionally ran over a family of ducks with a lawn mower in May, reports CBS affiliate WTSP.
Jason Falbo, 24, pleaded guilty to nine counts of animal cruelty. Authorities say he mowed down 11 ducklings and their mother May 2 at the home of a family caring for them in Wellington. Police say nine ducklings died. The mother and two ducklings survived.
I despair for the country when I get questions like this on a so-called conservative web site where one would hope the intellectual level is somewhat warmer than room temperature. God knows what frothing at the mouth would occur if I posted on Salon.
Oh and I hoped you’ve never set a rat trap or a mouse trap either.
Years ago a groundskeeper at the airport in Jackson Michigan basically tortured a dog to death by shooting it multiple times without killing it.
A few years later the guy was getting off the tractor pulling the gang mowers behind it and knocked the tractor into gear and fell down in front of the mower.
I’m guessing the dog was just the tip of his bad juju.
Story reminded me of this.
"Ceterum censeo 0bama esse delendam."

The bloody incident happened when Boyd Jentzsch and his son, Kai, put out food for a family of Muscovy ducks that lived outside their home in Wellington, a village in Palm Beach County, Florida.
...
There’s the problem. These ducks should never be fed. They are perfectly capable of feeding themselves. They are the goats of the avian world. They eat insects, grass, leaves off your plants, frogs, lizards, large snails. You name it, they’ll eat it, and it comes out of them just as fast as it went in.
“I hope you’ve never sprayed for ants or roaches and never swatted a fly or a mosquito.”
Did you read all of this 122-word article?
I plead guilty to feeding the birds then. And a chipmunk.
“Well who hasnt run a lawnmower over a family of ducks?”
Lucky you. I had to use the weedeater.
Are you feeding Muscovy ducks? There’s quite a difference.
No sympathy here.
He's a whitey and probably legal residence-wise but he has other problems, re the CBS story:
Falbo also pleaded guilty to a domestic strangulation case earlier in the year...and received two years of probation.
A madman just waiting to go off.
But selling body parts is okay.
Ants, cockroaches and mice and rats are not the same as the ducklings and anybody knows that. We kill them because they are pests and vermin.
One hallmark of a future serial killer is the killing of small animals, pets, as a child. This is referring to people’s pets, like cats and dogs, not rats and spiders. Although they probably kill those too and get an enjoyment out of it. Whereas when a normal person kills a spider they’re a bit grossed out but glad it’s dead so no one will get bitten by it.
Bingo!
Come now; you don’t really think she was talking about pests, do you?
She is correct; many murderers start out by killing cats and dogs.
“. . .what kind of a sick bastard would a thing like that?”
A VERY sick bastard.
Can't even hold a menial job mowing lawns without committing a felony.
Psychopath.
I think it is the cruelty part that earned him the jail time.
"Purposefully harming helpless animals is the hallmark of a murderer-in-training."The person who made this statement didn't qualify it, and without qualification it states that harming animals means you're going to be a murderer. So anyone who harms any animal according to the quote is going to be a murderer. Total load of cow squeeze. Or maybe in this case duck squeeze.
There is about a 1-2 acre pond here at my office park. There are typically 20+ Canadian geese and about the same in Mallards. About ten years back that number swelled to over 200. There were a group of women who worked for the bakery across the street that would come over and feed them every afternoon. Many of these water foul even stayed here in NH that winter because they had food. They actually kept a portion of the pond ice free because there were so many. The birds liked to come out of the pond and sit on the parking lot pavement at night because it was warm. Walking from your car to the office was like crossing a mine field. You always looked down before stepping out of your car. Eventually my boss went and spoke to the ladies regarding the impact of their feeding. These ladies only concern was that you are ruining our fun.
Now just recently there are people coming to feed them again. I was having a conversation with another employee in the parking lot after night last week. Suddenly there were 4 ducks and 6 geese walking right over to us. We were 50’ from the pond. They came up to within 5 feet of us. Obviously, someone is coming over after work and feeding them.
