My Dad and I used to watch the Jackie Gleason Show. Dad turned 90 last June, but his memory is not so good and I don't have anybody to share these memories with anymore. So I thought someone on free republic might have some.
yup lol
As sung by Joe the bartender.
Yeah that’s probably why I was feeling it tonite!
I also liked the episode when Ralph and Ed were doing the kitchen gadget commercial on live TV and Ralph could hardly speak.
Crazy Googs was the best. I think he could sing too.
“Hello, ball!”
He would get mad and nervous at the same time.
I didn’t know that... what happened? Did the show continue?
sorry to hear about your dad....have you tried videos of old shows you used to watch together or old music?
I have read that it sometimes helps jog the long term memory.
I used to watch stuff with my grandfather....Hee haw, the laurance welk show, star trek, scary movies on saturday afternoons and I if was good I could stay up late on fridays and watch Johnny Carson.
Enjoy The Band...

RACCOONs!
Buffaloes was The Flintstones (actually water buffaloes)
“Hiya Joe” “Oh, hiya, Mr. Dunnaghyhyhyhyhyh.”
If I recall correctly, Sid Caesars Show of Shows was after the Gleason show. If you watched Gleason, it was the next show to watch. i.e. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5m6Czgl1acU
“Can it core a apple”
That was awesome, had me in tears... ha ha ha
When we lived on the shoreline, we ran into him all the time...he drove an old beat-up stationwagon. Always very much the charming gentleman....and he loved to talk to *people*
I think his son Devin, won a bid for state rep, as a [R]

Outstanding! Glad to be of service.
The name that tune episode was great. Do you remember the winning song Ralph forgot even though it was Ed’s finger warm-up song he played over and over?
That was awesome My Dad used to drive me to Sunday School and would always play that kind of music on the way there and back.
