Vanity - what are my rights as a homeowner in dealing with dogs and people parking in my drivewVanity - what are my rights as a homeowner in dealing with dogs and people parking in my driveway
“Party at my house right now, in fact. Id invite you, but I doubt that you can handle the booze.”
I do ok with the sauce. Perhaps I misjudged you?
Uh, yes. I am not a supporter of Jeb, cowboy.
Parking in your drive is easy. Park behind them. If they complain tell them they should pay attention to when you decide to move the car blocking them so they can get out at your convenience. Until then walk.
The good advice is to let the cops be the bad guys. Maybe put up a No Trespassing sign.
If the cops do not tow the car, there is probably an impounding service that will do it at no charge to you.
Do not damage any property. Do not escalate into a feud.
Ya well if you were caught and all and you’d be inconvenienced. Better that they are, cable up the wheels or park behind them. My dad did something like that at our place. We live up a forest service road and one idiot decided to pull in to our drive way so they could walk around to the back of the house to see the view. We’re up like 600ft or so over Hood Canal. He parks behind them, can’t get out and told them in no uncertain terms to take a hike. It’s a mile and a half down to the highway and six miles in to town. Dad let the air out of the tires and told them to call a tow truck.
You need to check your local laws regarding dogs and parking.
Generally, you have to file complaints about dogs to either animal control or local law enforcement. It would be up to them to enforce local laws regarding dogs and illegal parking.
If they decide to take no action, you can file a civil lawsuit against the owners. The burden of proof would be on you and you would have to show damage or loss for you to collect.
yea but the butthole behavior is not the dog its the owner. even if its the dogs poop there is a potential infection. and a bigger statement can make a better statement. Posting an a**holes neighbors conduct on youtube and making the neighbors aware can shame the D**k head into leaving.
As a homeowner, if someone is parking in or blocking your driveway, they’re trespassing or breaking the law regarding access to your property. Check local ordinances, but I’d be willing to be you can call to have them towed with no legal repercussions. Retaliation by the towee, however, is likely.
Dog: Call the animal shelter and tell them you have a stray dog.
Car: Call a tow truck to haul away the car.
You don’t want to start undue conflict with neighbors so this in the most sane way to do it.
Of course if you knew who the dog or the car belonged to, just asking them to remove them would be the best way to go.
LOL!
Did that apply to single-family homes/driveways that were otherwise not open to someone the public?
LOL
Masterful, smokingfrog.
Make a video of the dogs parking and put it on Youtube. You’ll get rich and they’ll become stars.
What's not said about the car in the drive...
Or the dog...
Oh Larry (but I did smile)
There’s always 20 penny nails (just sayin)
EEK
In the house I grew up in, we had a drive way, but no car to put there. I'm old now, and though I have a car, I have no driveway to put it, although I do have a parking space in the lot outside my apartment building.
Isn’t it funny how things turn out?
