Are you Jersey proud?
The rest of the country doesnt seem to understand why.
A new survey by YouGov ranks New Jersey as the least liked state in the nation.
New Jersey is the only state in the country which people tend to have a negative opinion of, YouGov said in its summary.
According to YouGovs findings, 40 percent of Americans have a negative opinion of New Jersey, the highest of any of the 50 states.

There are parts of NJ that are really beautiful, especially in the NW. But, it has a lot of blighted area: Newark, Camden. A lot of people like the Jersey Shore too, but I never found it that great. Any beach on Long Island is superior.
I think the slutty TV show has something to do with this.
You know why they call it the “Garden State”?
Because “Petro-Chemical Mafia run Wasteland” wouldn’t fit on a license plate!
Yuk, Yuk. :)
I don’t agree! it has to be Texas or California!

Flemington was farm country.
The Massholes are pissed too, been vying for this title for decades. Massachusetts, first in gay!
Poor New Jersey. Nothing but helpful, why, even if you wanted to help the host, the gas station attendants insist on pumping gas for you.
Awwww. Really? I thought it was Alabama after all these years. The media told me so.
I agree, but the people, for the most part SUCK!
Grew up here, it’s pretty much all I know. There are some really nice parts, just too dang many people.
NJ, the armpit of the east.
Except for the taxes, I love it here in South Jersey. All these trees, the roads through deep forest, the southern shore towns. If only the taxes weren’t so steep...
bttt
My Nebraska born and raised son lives in NW NJ.
Stays there to be near his kids after divorce from his jersey wife.
Yep. Nice in the area he lives in, but he HATES it there. Lib state politics there drive him crazy.
Thankfully he found a very good country (if that’s possible), Jersey girl and they are getting married here in Nebraska this Saturday, July 4th!
Many of the people I met out there were nice, but they were clueless.
My Hawaii is #1. Yea!
Mom’s side of the family had their farm a few miles from Flemington. Dad met Mom in Flemington... My brother was born in Flemington... it is very, very different now. The nail in the coffin was turning the Flemington Fairground into a G.D. Lowe’s or WalMart or whatever it is... and more shopping centers.
I am not to fond of several other states as well.
It’s an old tradition. I believe in the colonial era, New Jersey was called “a valley of humility between two mountains of conceit.”
