Back in the olden days, when I first joined FRee Republic; when I no longer could stand to lurk anymore and had to comment, I chose afraidfortherepublic as my screen name.
We were in the heart of the Clinton impeachment scandals (1998). Also the Elian Gonzalez saga. The screen name seemed appropriate.
Some people thought it was too long, and they call me AFTR for short. After W was sworn in, a number of other FReepers encouraged me to change my screen name, but I declined because I still feared for the future of the Republic.
Jes' sayin' that the SCOTUS decisions and the behavior of the WH just proves that my instincts were right.
I am truly afraidfortherepublic.
Don't drink too much of that good Hinterlands brew. :)
Ephesians 6:11
Gotta stay sober - aim small, miss small! I’ll drink after the war. :)
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Good point.
How revealing and scary!
I couldn't agree more. I didn't think it would last a year. Shows how wrong I was.
I am surprised at His patience but most Americans are pro-life in some form. However, He does have America’s enemies warning the nation by the nickname “the Great Satan” and terrorism didn’t start on 9/11. The first was actually in 1972. Well, now roe v wade:
Argued December 13, 1971
Reargued October 11, 1972
Decided January 22, 1973
pretty good chart of the history of terrorists...

Your name is a good one. I hope you don’t change it. I signed up in 1999 after lurking for about a year, picked the name MomwithHope because of the shame of Bill Clinton. my name has applied through many situations. It ain’t over as someone else here has already said. As long as we have enemies our republic is always in danger. I do my best to trust in God’s plan and keep my own nose clean. And help others when I see the opportunity. And there are lots of opportunities.
You asked where our Josiah is. I love listening to Christian apologist Ravi Zacharias. Today I listened to him talk about King Manasseh and King Josiah. If you have time enjoy.
