I dunno. My girlfriend at the time dragged me to the theater to see it. She loved it.

My wife hates that movie...

I’d probably seen it 20 times over the years....

Never just tired of it...

great movie. of course. but I grew up with some of these characters and they are ruthless and worthless. I was working at a pizzeria when two of them were laughing about kicking an old man down a flight of stairs while robbing his house.
I’m Italian American and had to take up boxing because they always wanted to fight so I had to learn to defend myself. it worked.
Castellano’s old fortress is only a few miles away.
things didn’t turn out too well for him lol

I abhor mafia/gangster movies of recent times. Glorifying these monsters is not entertainment.

Oh, bullcrap. It’s one of my favorites movies. Probably in my top 25.

That movie is the King of quotes. “I want my money! I want my money!” “Now go home and get your shinebox!” “Your going to go dig the hole, I’m not digging the hole” What was interesting is the entire movie was taken almost verbatim from the book. I read the book and it was like reading the script.

I’m not a big Goodfella’s fan. I think it’s alright but I like Casino better.

I’m not a Oliver Stoned Scarface fan either. Then again I’m not a cokehead and many of the people I know who do dig that movie like their cocaine fantasy or are latino.

I really never did get this movie at all, but this is a good article and I think I’m buying his theory of “ball busting etiquette”.

What’s to understand?

It’s red and white candy.

What?

“Good & Plenty”?

Ohhhhhh.....the movie.

Well, back in high school, the girls used to call me “Good & Plenty”.

Because I was so sweet to them, you dirty minds.

Don't forget, good fellas’ was based on the non-fiction book by Henry Hill who is portrayed by Ray Liota and is realistic to the way the mob operates. It's definitely in my top 10 along with the first two Godfather movies which are in the 1 and 2 slot for me.

True story. Johnny Roast Beef threatened to break my legs once because an actress he liked was flirting with me.

It was funny because he wasn’t the least bit scary. He was just a fat f**k who bought a pink Cadillac and ended up in a meat truck.

Goodfellas
Casino
Miller’s Crossing
Carlito’s Way
Donnie Brasco
Scarface
The Business

those are 7 entertaining “crime/mob” movies for avoiding 7 days of lousy summer primetime programming. ;)

Perfect timing as I’m re-reading Wiseguys right now and a lot of the movie dialog is verbatim from the book.

That theme song was pretty good. I’ll bet that musician did pretty well for himself.
