The cause of an early morning fire north of San Diego was an electrocuted bird falling from an active power line
A bird carrying a snake in its talons struck power lines north of San Diego, sparking a hillside fire just west of The Merge.
San Diego Police arrived to the location on Dunhill Street near the intersection of Interstates 5 and 805 just before 6 a.m.
Flames were burning very close to businesses including the General Atomics building, officials said.
Officers called in San Diego Fire-Rescue crews who contained the fire within an hour.
Fire officials initially told NBC 7 a bird with a snake in its mouth was electrocuted on a power line and fell to the ground, sparking the fire. A photo released by officials later shows the snake in the hawk's grasp.
"A hawk that hit the high voltage power line, caught fire, and fell to the ground," SD Fire-Rescue spokesperson Lee Swanson said in a written release.
There were no structures damaged and no evacuations ordered.
This area of San Diego is home to many companies in the region's biochemical industry.

The slot machines here now use a “debit card” system. The only people who actually handle money are the cashiers in the cage.

Nevadans, especially in southern Nevada, are sick and tired of the bathtub ring around Lake Mead, and resent the fact that California (LA) is taking everything away from us. Because of the Lake levels, we have to ration OUR water, while we watch Angelinos suck it up their stupid water-hungry straws.
If I lived anywhere in CA, I would be pressing everyone and anyone foe desalinization plants. They ARE the answer, and if CA wants to go Green that’s a way to help.

Dentistry still underway. I’ve been to church, the gas station, and the grocery store.
I’ve lived alone basically most of my life, and I know exactly how you feel. It would be nice to have someone to talk to at the end of the day. Or first thing in the morning.

the bird landed on the powerline and was ok until the loose end of the snake flopped across the parallel wire completing the circuit
I was going to go to DMV this morning, but I was feeling so puny yesterday, I went to bed before 1300, and realized I’d better stay close to the barn today.
So I will plan on going next week.
I don’t know what I’ve been eating but it hasn’t been the right stuff. I have to go to the store, but I don’t want to. I wasn’t able to get the steroid thanks to stamps.com and my stupid memory, so now, I’m afraid to even buy food. And Pink Drink won’t be on the list for a while.
