Your ads aren’t coming from FR.

It’s you. I’ve never gotten a pop up on this site in well over 10 years.

Free Republic does not have pop up ads.
If you’re seeing them, you’re infected with malicious advertising software that has hijacked your browser.

I'm not seeing any popup ads. Using Safari 8.06 with Adblock Plus
Several shown as blocked, though, when Forum page opens

You are experiencing a browser plugin issue or other sort of browser hijack. You may want to run some adware and virus scans.
Alternatively, you may try using another browser.

You may have a virus that hijacked your DNS or web browser...

What Crazieman said. There are no ads on FR, popup or otherwise, except for the Freepathon posts.
Your PC is infected with malware that is popping up ads over anything you browse. Time to do a virus scan.

Download, install and run malwarebytes from their website. See if that doesn't clear it up.

I’m not getting any ads! I use Ad Blocker Plus, but it shows no ads here at all. Get everything Google and Gmail off your computer. Use Ixquick for searches. Google is a spy agency!

FR does not use popup advertisements of any sort. I'm guessing malware here, possibly a browser redirector or something of the like.
THESE GUYS might be able to tell you if that's the case.

Sorry, those were mine. Can you forward them to me please?
