Veteran actor and gay rights activist Patrick Stewart has defended a Christian bakery which was found guilty of discrimination for refusing to bake a cake with a pro-gay marriage slogan.
Last month, a judge ruled that Ashers Baking Company in Northern Ireland had discriminated against a gay customer by refusing to make a cake with the words support gay marriage, along with a picture of Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street.
Gareth Lee commissioned the cake for an event to mark International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia. The bakery initially accepted the order, but called Mr. Lee two days later to cancel.

Why is it so hard to understand that you have every right to discriminate against putting labor toward an EVENT you disagree with. You’re not discriminating against them as people - they’d otherwise make any other cake they want.
Why can’t the answer just be, “I’ll make YOU any cake for any reason except for a gay wedding?”. You’re not refusing service based on discrimination against a person because of who they are but what they’re asking you to labor toward.
When it comes to recognizing rights, people tend not to if it won’t impact them. If you’re not religious you are not sensitive to religious rights. If you’re not black you are not sensitive to black rights. etc. It can be difficult to see the injustice when it doesn’t impact you. Now we have the gay activists empowered and believing their rights trump religious rights to the point of trampling on them with impunity and not seeing the problem. They don’t care about religious rights, many probably don’t think there should be any at all.
This is compelled speech, coerced speech and forced servitude. The worst part is that they don’t even consider the backlash that will be coming as this can only have one conclusion. They think we should all just “get used to it”, regardless of whose rights are being violated.

Well said!
And that it offends Muslims.
Goody. A new word for the PC crowd. As usual, they don't get that "phobia" means fear. Those opposing GLBT types are not fearful, just repulsed.
Here's some new suggestions that can be applied to homophobia and/or transphobia:
Homorepulsed;
Homoresistent;
Homodisgusted;
Homoadverse;
Homotired-of-hearing-about-your-sex-preferences-everyday;
Feel free to add your own.
That’s probably it. Otherwise, actors can’t refuse to play political figures and historical actors they hate.
Can’t you make the cake and give whomever the icing to make whatever they want with it?
The word “transphobia” would literally mean “fear of going across”. Just like “homophobia” means “fear of the same”.
Homonauseous.
Patrick Stewart is right.. Thanks for defending the bakery...
Funny...thanks for posting it...
Such new cakes, symbols of submission, are the new Auto de Fe. Convert or Die. Molon Labe, LGBT creeps.
...read that somewhere, once.
Wait...Jean Luc is queer?!
Et tu, Brute? Then fall Caesar!
Yes, good strategy.
