Why is it so hard to understand that you have every right to discriminate against putting labor toward an EVENT you disagree with. You’re not discriminating against them as people - they’d otherwise make any other cake they want.
Why can’t the answer just be, “I’ll make YOU any cake for any reason except for a gay wedding?”. You’re not refusing service based on discrimination against a person because of who they are but what they’re asking you to labor toward.
When it comes to recognizing rights, people tend not to if it won’t impact them. If you’re not religious you are not sensitive to religious rights. If you’re not black you are not sensitive to black rights. etc. It can be difficult to see the injustice when it doesn’t impact you. Now we have the gay activists empowered and believing their rights trump religious rights to the point of trampling on them with impunity and not seeing the problem. They don’t care about religious rights, many probably don’t think there should be any at all.
This is compelled speech, coerced speech and forced servitude. The worst part is that they don’t even consider the backlash that will be coming as this can only have one conclusion. They think we should all just “get used to it”, regardless of whose rights are being violated.
