We asked you to list your choices for the 10 greatest Dodgers of all time. You could vote via comment, Facebook, Twitter or email. And vote you did. We received an amazing 14,383 ballots. So many, that we have decided to expand the list from the top 10 to the top 20.
You were asked to rank your top 10 in order. We assigned points, with your choice for first getting 12 points, second getting nine points, third getting eight points, all the way down to one point for 10th place. Each weekday here, we will unveil the top 20, one at a time, until we reach No. 1.

Vin Scully is a sportscaster and was never a Dodger. He worked for CBS and NBC. Shouldn’t be on the list. If he’s on the list for sentimental reasons, then perhaps we could include mascots, hot dog vendors, etc

True story: I was driving back to Cincinnati, OH from Nashville, TN the night of that game. Just north of the city where I-24 and I-65 split there was a horrendous accident and traffic jam, and we sat on the interstate through the entire game. A guy in a pickup 2 cars in front of me had a battery powered TV, and a bunch of us watched that home run happen standing in the middle of I-24/I-65. I’ll never forget it.

Yep. Ebbets Field. And I’m afraid I forget who, but someone hit a home run out of the park. I do remember eating a hot dog in a bun with mustard, which was standard fare at the time. And Coke in a can.
Any team is made up of quite a bit more than just the players if that is what you mean. You can say the same for Walter Alston, the O’Malleys, and Branch Rickey - would you consider them to also be here just for sentimental reasons and not Dodgers?

Walter Alston, the O’Malleys, and Branch Rickey were all involved with the Dodgers as managers or owners. They were part of the Dodgers organization.
