After last week’s shocking admission that he’d molested his sisters as a teenager, former “19 Kids and Counting” star Josh Duggar has put his parents in quite a pickle.
While Josh has (deservedly) received plenty of backlash from his admission, his parents have also come under heavy scrutiny for how they have handled the situation.

However, it’s worth noting where Jim Bob, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in 2002, actually stands on the issue of incest and rape — or at least what he told the public while he was running for office.
According to Gawker, who was able grab a screen shot of Duggar’s old campaign website via web cache, Duggar had this to say about the taboo subject: “… rape and incest represent heinous crimes and as such should be treated as capital crimes.”

An aspiring rapper, just starting to turn his life around.
While I’m sure he knew what he was doing was wrong at the time, I don’t think a 12-14 year old can really understand or appreciate (for lack of a better word) the seriousness of something like that, nor the effect it can have on the girls he molested.
It’s to his credit that he owned up to it. That cannot have been easy under any circumstances. I sure would not want any of my dirty laundry aired, even decades later.

Just a few scant years after he molested his sisters, including a four year old (A FOUR YEAR OLD) when he was 15, he made jokes about incest:

Does this sound like a remorseful, penitent young man to you? Or does this sound like a child predator whose parents essentially let him get away with it (Jim Bob sent Josh to build houses with a family friend instead of getting real therapy, and the LEO Jim Bob had Josh talk to turned out to be a child pornographer).
I’m continually sickened by apologists for the Duggars on what I thought was a forum for moral, upright, conservative people.

That is not a penitent, remorseful person (I refuse to call him a man. He doesn’t deserve the respect.)
Not necessarily. He may have murdered Josh if it were not against the law and his mom was not protecting him.
I don’t see that information linked anywhere. What I do see is the whole story that is marketed to think the worst. The way words and what words are use effect the imagination and some of these posters here imagination has gone wild. But if what you say is true then what? The story marketed as it is more a trauma than what Josh done? Now the victims are victims again?
The phrase “old enough to know better” implies that he is also mature enough to drink alcohol, drive a car, vote, join the miitary, live on his own, et al.

For the rest of us, it describes what a person of any age should know better than to do.
Like at age 10, one is old enough to know better than to shoplift.
or at age 14, one is old enough to know better than to sexually molest your kid sister.
Yes, their imaginations are running wild. The real story is disturbing enough as is. But some people are jumping to even worse conclusions, and they're relying on gossip rags for their info.

He's worse than a molester - he's a pedophile.
What ever the desire she had the gossip mill is not going leave her alone. Who ever took the picture has committed a crime against her.
So what? That doesn't make either a pedophile. Most children are not motivated by an attraction to children and most do not molest when they become adults.
