If youre applying to Harvard and your last name is Wong or Liu, changing it to Lopez or Luciano might just make the difference you need to get in.
Harvard routinely rejects Asian applicants in favor of whites and sought-after minorities with lower test scores and grades.
Enrollment data reveal that Harvard limits Asian-Americans to a flat 15-18 percent of the student body, year after year, though they increasingly dominate the top of the applicant pool.
To smoke out ethnicity, Harvard requires applicants to provide their parents place of birth, mothers maiden name and whether their family has ever changed its name.
These questions, along with an interview requirement, were devised in the 1920s to limit the number of Jewish students. Now Asians are the new Jews, welcome only in limited numbers.
Last Friday, 64 Asian-American organizations filed a complaint with the Department of Education challenging Harvards quota system. Harvard denies it has one, but the evidence that it does is convincing and sickening.

Disgraceful!
“To smoke out ethnicity, Harvard requires applicants to provide their parents place of birth, mothers maiden name and whether their family has ever changed its name.”
That’s pretty amazing, amazingly horrible.
I wonder how many of the 64 groups involved support Democrats in general.
Harvard,Yale and the other “Ivy League” schools have long since surrendered their credibility, prestige and cachet to Political Correctness. They are no longer worth the reverence once assigned to them.
Asians will eventually be a larger minority group in the US than hispanics.
Republicans should be jumping all over this issue to help them see that the Republican party is their natural home.

Asians support Democrats at a 75 to 80% clip. Maybe this will wake them up to the reality the Dems aren’t out there for their best interests. If they would just stop overachieving and follow the Democratic Party program of victimhood then all will be fine.

Hey, you creative folks out there, is it possible to answer those question to make yourself look like an American Indian like Lizzy Warren did?
C’mon let’s get creative....
To smoke out ethnicity, Harvard requires applicants to provide their parents place of birth, mothers maiden name and whether their family has ever changed its name.
Despite what the article implies, that’s actually not part of Harvard’s own application. Harvard, like most colleges, uses the Common Application - those questions are part of the “background” section of the Common App.
Harvard (undergraduate, medical, and law) judges Asians on a harder scale than whites and a much harder scale than blacks or Hispanics. I find their racism disgusting.
This practice is fairly widespread, which doesn’t excuse it.
Asians tend to study hard and achieve high. They should be granted admissions accordingly.
One of the recent revelations was a lecturer explaining to Asian parents that your kid needs 100-200 points higher on standardized tests, because blacks and hispanics get those points added to their profile to get in.
It is like blacks getting an extra letter grade on the GPA on what is supposed to be a merit system.
They violate the rights of hard-working intelligent people in order to give those rights to undeserving unintelligent slackers.
I wish I had the exact quote, but a democrat years ago said that blacks didn’t have the “intellectual wherewithal to compete on a level playing field with whites. Affirmative action supports are far more likely to be racists than are those who believe in a race-blind policy of judging people by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
Don’t they worry that years of selecting mediocrity will ruin their prestige? We did not consider the Ivy’s for my son, not just because of our conservative beliefs but we have been observing what their idiot graduates have been doing to this country over the years
