The Navy is proceeding with its plan to increase the number of women in the service to 25 percent with a similar goal of attaining that ratio in each ship and squadron, the vice chief of naval operations said Thursday. Women currently make up about 17 percent of the Navy, said Adm. Michelle Howard, who made a stop in Honolulu on her way to the International Maritime Defense Exhibition in Singapore, where she will meet with her counterparts from other nations in the region.

How naive of me. I always thought the Navy's goal was to man our ships with 100% best sailors available. Period.
I don't want to see physically weak women causing the deaths of good men in battle.
Wonderful. A couple thousand years of naval common sense thrown out for PC BS. It never occurs there is a reason women weren’t on naval vessels.
I suspect this admiral is a PC installment who couldn’t manage a row boat.
So do they have a goal of how many of the prostitutes in the various navy ports have to be men?
It happens quick. My wife said that by the end of boot camp they were all in synch.
So we don’t look for the best person for the job , no we want more women because they are women and it looks good for the left wing nuts out there.
Course there is no problem with women getting pregnant on the ship and then they have to get a base job and not deploy, or that STD’s have gone up along with pregnancies.
I just look forward to getting grown ups back in power and all these officers can stop sucking up to this administration.
No they just get pregnant like so many do so they don’t have to deploy.
Just said the same about them.
I;ve met a couple of women in the Navy who have said that they know many females who get knocked up to get out of being redeployed.
that figures.
It does depend a bit on the trade.
I’m very against any female presence in any combat arm (infantry, engineers, artillery, etc), but some trades like dental they do fine in.
It’s all dependent on that. I’m guessing though that an admiral would be running a fleet of ships, therefor, there’s the chance of combat. I suppose one could be working in an administrative roll in HQ somewhere though such as the Pentagon.
Maybe I’m just old school, but females have no place on the front lines.
I’ve been there and done that too. It’s frustrating.
Of course there’s some men you wind up doing that for too, some join to collect the paycheck and do as little as possible. I detest that as well.
Ah, that's what I meant by the phrase "for medical reasons."
The whole medical reason will and is used so many times and yet these dopes can’t get it into their thick heads that this social experiment is not working.
Course when the Admiral is named Michelle then it doe snot surprise me and I’m sure she worked is hard to get to where she is.
sarc.
About 15 percent of the US military is female. Are they going to drag in another 10% kicking and screaming?
Guyarund the corner from me joined the national guard to get his free college and benefits.
e wears his uniform to chic-fil-a and then changes out of it as soon as he gets home.
People like that and there are may in todays military are just as bad as what you described.
That attitude drives me.
My experience has been the Canadian side, but a large part that join are there to collect a cheque.
I’d say 75% to 80% are a waste of oxygen while the remainder are the ones who actually make the wheel go round.
I call it glorified government welfare.
When I got out I wrote an essay on what was wrong with it, but only because they asked heh. They probably regretted asking.
They’re too busy flying rainbow flags and paying for sex changes to actually do any real work.
agree with every word
I hope we see a return to the way it was meant to be. Our countries have proud military histories.
I will say though that Canada has been on the wrong side of a few things though now.
Helping KLA out (muslims), hitting Libya to help the ‘rebels’, I could go on.
I don’t really blame the military for that though, I blame the leadership.
same here. If we had the leadership like we used to then we would not be going thorough all of this.
Anyway I have to get going now so have a good weekend.
