The Vatican Against the Jews [Numbers 23]
Israel National News ^ | 5/14/2015 | Giulio Meotti

It is since 2012 that the Vatican, under Pope Benedict XVI, spoke of the “State of Palestine” in its official documents. So the decision of the Holy See to recognize this non-existent state should not be a surprise. But the treaty is the first legal and bilateral document in which the Vatican speaks of the “State of Palestine” and no more of the “Organization for the Liberation of Palestine” (PLO): it is, in fact, an official recognition. A symbolic and historic breakthrough.

When the Vatican recognized Israel, at the beginning of the Nineties, it happened within the framework of Oslo Accords: Israel fatally recognized the PLO and the Catholic Church in exchange recognized the decades-old Jewish State. A big mistake, but many mistakes occurred in that period.

Today the situation is much different: the Palestinian Arabs are internationalizing the conflict with Israel and avoiding sitting at the same table with her, while the Arab-Islamic world feeds an enormous hatred for the “Zionists” and masses of Christians are driven out of Islamic lands, including the Palestinian Authority areas. The Vatican’s decision should be read as an historic stance against the rights of the Jewish people to their own land.

For over forty years after the Jewish State won independence in 1948, the Vatican adopted a diplomatic policy copying that of Israel’s enemies: total non-recognition of the Jewish statehood. Despite the acceptance by all Western nations, including, at the beginning, the Communist bloc, the Vatican’s recognition of Israel occurred only in 1993...

The biblical prophet Balaam made an astounding prophecy approximately 3500 years ago. He foretold that Israel would not be recognized as legitimate among the nations. This prophesy is true even today. The land the world calls Palestine is considered occupied territory, even though the Jews are indigenous. In fact the ancient lands of Judeah (called southern West Bank) and Samaria (Northern West Bank) are part of this ruse.

How can Israel negotiate with an entity (Palestine) that denies its right to exist? Yet the Pope has recognized Palestine, a terror State committed to Israel's demise, as a legitimate entity. The Bible prophets foretold that in the last days, Israel and Jerusalem would be reestablished and inhabited by the Jews. Zechariah 12 reveals that the entire world would oppose and send armies to settle this dispute. It is in this "time of trouble" that the Israeli/Jewish people look to their Messiah. The one who was pierced for their transgressions and laid his life down as the sacrificial lamb to pay the price for their sins (and the sins of the entire gentile world - Isaiah 53).

Numbers 23:9 For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations. 10 Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die * the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!

As both a Catholic and an American I think it is a shame that the men in charge are both are Marxists.

Poppa is a friend of the Castros.
No surprise here...

Nation has various meanings, and the meaning has changed over time.[1] The concept of "nation" is related to "ethnic community" or ethnie. An ethnic community often has a myth of origins and descent, a common history, elements of distinctive culture, a common territorial association, and sense of group solidarity.--Wikipedia

Is it possible that this Pope is referring to the Pali's in this sense rather than the more common definition ?

I don’t know.

All I know is that both my country and my church are now both run by Marxists.

Deuteronomy 32:21
They have provoked Me to jealousy by what is not God;
They have moved Me to anger by their foolish idols.
But I will provoke them to jealousy by those who are not a nation;
I will move them to anger by a foolish nation.

I would have expected nothing else from this horrible, destructive leftist Pope. Awful.

Because of anti-Semitism and the aversion they felt upon seeing Israel again among the family of nations. For the Vatican, an independent Jewish State bearing the name “Israel,” with Jerusalem as its capital, and a renewal of life in the land of the Bible, has been the most complex theological Christian problem and a total contradiction to Church dogma.

His claim about Church dogma is nonsense, and he wields the term "anti-Semitism" just like leftists wield "racism" and "sexism": to intimidate and silence disagreement.

I can agree with you on our country . I haven’t been able to figure out what the Pope is up to right now. I’m a little leery of the Fatima Prophecy.

I lovingly disagree. The Catholic Church has a long history of misdeeds regarding the Jewish people. Jews were forced to live in Ghettos during the dark ages and often persecuted. Additionally, the modern Roman Catholic Church did not recognize Israel until the 1990s.

Yes, that would explain the United States. A group of misfits and outcasts from all the nations forming a Bible based country and leading the world for a couple centuries.

the Vatican has gone off the rails, promoting Satan’s earthly legions (who bomb and terrorize innocent people in the Holy Land)

So very very sorry to see this happen to the Church.

(It will have zero impact in Israel, of course, that’s not a problem. But it stigmatizes the Church being in league with the Devil. A horrible, horrid, and disgusting gesture, especially so soon in the memory of several very fine Holy Fathers/Popes. We cry for the RC Church.)

I believe that verse is mostly understood as referring to Palestinians.

The Catholic Church has a long history of misdeeds regarding the Jewish people. Jews were forced to live in Ghettos during the dark ages and often persecuted.

And the Jews of course had no misdeeds, like opening the gates of Constantinople to the Turks or serving as the slave traders and tax administrators of the invading Moors.

Not a good development for Israel, but considering Israel survived 45 years before the Vatican recognized them, they'll survive. Some articles state that the Vatican no longer recognizes the PLO as the representative of the palestinian people as the UN does which would be interesting, but I suspect that's not true.

No, they're entering into a treaty with the Palestinian State, so it's a political decision.

I'm looking for a reason to like the Pope, but I haven't found it yet.

I grant that he is staunchly and verbally pro-life and has shown great courage by threatening to excommunicate the Mafia. Everything else, though...meh.
