Tom Brady will be the highest profile player ever suspended in the 96-year history of the NFL.
Roger Goodell's decision is expected to be announced next week and it is no longer a matter of if the NFL commissioner will suspend Brady, but for how long he will suspend him.
In conversations I've had with several key sources who always have a good sense of what goes on at 345 Park Avenue, there is little doubt Goodell considers Brady's role in DeflateGate a serious violation.
The NFL is convinced, according to sources, that connecting all the dots of the evidence supplied by Wells leads to one conclusion:
Brady cheated.

It’s a poorly written and poorly enforced rule that has no real logic to it. The NFL really needs to answer why the PSI range is so small, what real advantage do they think come from being half a pound outside that range. And they need to explain why if this rule is so important balls spend so much time in team control after their supposed inspection. And if they suspend Brady they need to explain how his infraction is different from when Fox’s camera recorded the Viking and Panthers heating their balls on the sidelines and their only punishment was letters from the league.
Not all rules are made equally, and this one is pretty weak.
Most beginning of the season suspensions include the pre-season. The important part of the Vick post jail suspension is really that the gave him 2 pre-season games to practice with his new team.
“ONLY Brady benefits from this. Nobody else. And some subterfuge was used to get the balls past the normal inflation check. The claim that the one person on the field who benefits from this — who clearly lied — has not been “proven” to have done anything is an argument worthy of the Casey Anthony Jury.
But not serious people.
He cheated; only a moron would be unable to connect the dots.”
Well if only a moron cannot connect the dots then you sir are a moron.
I am working today will post a full rebuttal/rant later this evening.
The ref did nothing wrong.
Brady cheated.
The balls were weighted before the game, all were over 12.5 lbs.
That means an equipment guy almost certainly substituted balls after the game check.
“Brady cheated.
The refs believed the balls were light. Rather than stop the game, rather than stop the game, the NFL waited and weighed them at half-time. 11 of 12 balls were two or more lbs. below the limit.
Brady cheated.
The refs did nothing wrong.”
You don’t know the difference between weight and pressure?
Seriously Hater?
Did you drop out of elementary school?
the balls were given to the officials at 12.6 psi where Brady likes them.
At halftime their pressure had dropped as it must due to the laws of Physics.
As explained her so even morons can understand:

BTW the NFL Official NEVER REcORDED THE PSI OF THE BALLS PREGAME. Wells merely went off his memory of the ball pressure, BS he was covering his butt for the lax nfl procedure. BTW 3 of the Colts balls were below the limot at halftime. What was the PSI of the Colts balls pregame? Anderson SAYS 13.0 but again not recorded. Could have 14 for all anybody knows.
FOr the record Brady was 12-14 in the second half after the balls were brought back to 12.5 psi, and when the 12.5 psi balls were used in the SB he was 37-50 against the Seahawks.
Can’t believe an adult woldn’t know the difference between 12.5 LBS and 12.5 psi.
Even held a Football 12.5 pounds? ROYFLMAO.
Who cares? Obviously Brady would have them deflated if he felt he could throw better with some air taken out. So he got caught. Just like the rest of us regular people get caught sometimes breaking the rules, be it taking a right turn on red without fully stopping, or padding a tax deduction for a charitable donation, following a school bus too closely, or going 45mph in a 35mph zone.
None of this is hurting Brady. This is like a speeding ticket to him. So he might get suspended for a few games. Boo hoo. He's a mega-millionaire, he's been in six Super Bowls and he's living pretty much the perfect life. Why just on Saturday, he saw the Kentucky Derby in person and then flew a private jet to Las Vegas to see the boxing match in person.
So who wouldn't want to be Tom Brady?
He bent the rules. He got caught. Big deal. He'll pay his fine, he'll get a few extra weeks off in the fall, and he'll get back to living his perfect life.
That is very possible. I hear a lot of BS about various things. This is where I heard it: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2015/05/07/deflategate_didn_t_have_to_happen
“And they need to explain why if this rule is so important balls spend so much time in team control after their supposed inspection.”
Also why they just don’t just check the current play ball regularly with all those commercial breaks if it’s that big a deal. I suspect the answer is that the NFL is willing to look the other way on pretty much anything, as long as whatever is going on gives offense an edge. They know that to most casual fans scoring = excitement.
A good question would be why other teams aren’t calling each other out over this all the time. The NFL has it set up like they want everyone to do this, so maybe the teams don’t want to be called on it in retaliation like checking pitchers scuffing in baseball. But each game means so much in NFL you would think any unfair edge would be screamed about pretty regularly.
Freegards
Suspension effective until summer practices begin?
No prob—more time for Brady at the gay bath houses.
You know, just the fact that anyone would employ a body language expert to try and determine if Brady is lying about how much air is in his football, is UTTERLY RIDICULOUS!
The NFL has a lot of really stupid rules.
And yeah, they have the right to do whatever makes ‘em feel better about it all. Fact of the matter is they still proved nothing, but it’s their sandbox, so they can continue to look like the fools they are if they want to.
Thanks for being my laugh for the morning, genius.
Yet again.
[And, and of course any hope of a repeat, when Brady is sitting out four games.]
Because he's a cheater, and that's what cheaters do.
PSI= pounds per square inch you condescending twit.
“Aaron Rodgers should face the same suspension, IF the NFL has as good a case against him. I’m not arguing about this on the basis of which team committed the foul the way Cheatriot fans are [”We should be allowed to cheat. Because: win.”] I’m arguing that the rules are the rules and need to be followed.”
What do you mean have a good case he publicly said it on the damn radio in October.
It was and will continue to be ignored by the NFL.
Get a grip this is a big deal because it is the Patriots and the NFL Fo is populated by ex Jet employees who have an ax to grind.
Please.
You’re wrong, just unwilling to admit it.
And at least you have enough self-awareness that you didn’t object to the twit part.
It’s just a stupid game people. Lighten up.
Ah, It’s easy to see that this is in some way personal for you. So I was 100% correct then.
