I do wear some make-up on occasion. First, eyebrow pencil, because they have always been sparse and are nearly non-existent these days. Sometimes a little something to cover the rosacea, or at least tone it down.
I tell my daughters and granddaughters that men do not love us for what we do to ourselves, they love us in spite of it.

I love makeup, perfume, jewelry and clothes. Women need makeup it protects their skin especially when women hit 30.

My dad the preacher always said he agreed with the “ole west Texas” preacher who responded to the makeup question with, “If the barn needs paint, paint it.”

Yeah, why do women wear makeup? Got me. You boys might take a lesson from the fan base this guy enjoys:

Most women do not have flawless skin. Perhaps the ones you are seeing that seem to are just very good with their application of make-up.

We girls wear make-up to accent our good features and downplay our less desirable ones. I do not feel completely dressed, finished without my make-up. Going out without make-up would seem to me like going out in public without brushing my hair.

I enjoy women who wear makeup in the same way I enjoy women who wear a nice looking dress.

Not all makeup, looks good, and not all women look good in makeup, and some women don’t need to wear makeup.

If a woman wears it because it makes her feel more attractive or whatever, I am okay with that.

But I am a fan of “tastefully” applied and worn makeup. When my wife puts it on...sometimes it is just a touch of eye-liner, or a brush to the eyebrows. Not much, but enough.

Too much is...un-atttractive on nearly any woman.

Genetic because they find tribes with no other contacts and the women are all dolled up by local standards.
Same for shopping and predisposition to are socialism?

Old barns always look better with a little new paint on them, cake is better with frosting, etc.

I think you should do a little historical research. Try Sumerian and Egyptian history for starters. Along with cuneiform script and hieroglyphics many beauty artifacts have been found. So in essence beauty enhancement goes back to prehistoric times. Kohl, Henna and fragrant ointments go back that far.
