This video was taken by our NBC 7 crew in San Ysidro. Several viewers also told us about the lights. Some said they appeared to be red, blue, and green and kept flashing and changing colors. Some who saw them say the lights didn't seem to move, like those on a plane or a drone. We put in calls to the military here to see if they could identify what these were. So far, no response. I've seen lots of skyscrapers being built in my day, and have never seen lights like those on any of them.
Got an opinion as to the reason for those lights, their colors, and the strange arrangement?
“Clearly a surveillance blimp they fly all over Nevada and around military bases.”
You’ve personally seen these before? Not doubting you, just asking.
Except that blimps in the air are like ships in the water or a submarine submerged -- constantly being buffeted and moved by currents, whether they are air currents or wind currents. A ship nor submarine can no more come to a motionless standstill than the man in the moon, UNLESS it is affixed to a pier/pylon or sitting on the bottom. Same is true for a blimp.
I have no idea what it IS, but blimp it ain't.
Me too!
Agreed.
Sure you did, doug. Why don't you post them? Why don't you show how simple it is to fly, and hold in a stationary position, an RC drone -- fixed-wing, helicopter, or blimp, your choice --rigged up with lights to look like this?
If it's that easy, you should be able use your digital camera/video to produce in a snap a video that would fool everybody -- except for smart savvy folks like yourself, of course!
Put your money where your mouth is.
Something tells me you won't, though. Something tells me you couldn't produce a half-way convincing UFO on film to save your patoot.
But by all means, ping me when you post that video. In the meantime, I don't pretend to know what this thing IS, but I can tell you what it ain't. If I had to guess, I'd venture it was a doctored video OR a test of black-op technology, being so near to North Island US Navy carrier and submarine base.
There's an outside chance as well that it's the lighting at the top of a very large structure like a skyscraper, except I don't think there are any in that location and if there were, whoever the news director is at that station, is destined for a management position at a third-rate McDonald's until he's retired.
I've seen lots of skyscrapers being built in my day, and have never seen lights like those on any of them.
TL, skyscrapers are still there when the fog has cleared, the sun has risen, and it's clearly visual. Sure, it could have been a skyscraper -- and if it is, then the news editor who gave the okay to this story is going to look like a first-class moron and dupe.
The thing that makes the story iffy for me is, what did the thing eventually do? Fade away? Suddenly disappear? Stay there so long that people just got tired of waiting to see what it would do and went home, and the next morning it was gone? That seems pretty far-fetched.
Sorry to offend your sensibilities.
The Polaroids were taken some 35 years ago as a 15 year-old’s experiment, which I’ve long since lost. Though I still say they were better than the photo at #3.
As for whatever video production skills I may or may not have at this stage of my life, you’re likely right.
I’m am glad that that you don’t seem caught up in the “extraterrestrial life is here” craze that doesn’t hold up to what we understand about physics, which admittedly could be less than some...when and if that some ever get here to demonstrate it, which IMHO, is not very likely.
Agreed!!
What is amazing is the McMinneville photos, from the early fifties, I strongly suggest anyone interested in them open the link (there are a few freepers still around who have seen this).
Pretty obviously, YOU are the one offended at my being skeptical of your claim that "I could do that! Anybody could fake that picture -- heck, I did it when I was 15!" Yeah -- right. :^)
Personally, I think that folks who knee-jerk to things like this the way you do, are incapable of handling the scary truth or of even seriously pondering its possibility.
I have never seen a UFO (that I know of), I never want to see one, and I also know that it is MUCH more far-fetched to think that people from all walks of life who have lifelong histories of straightforward honesty and sanity (several known personally to me) suddenly become delusional and tell whoppers about UFOs at the risk of tainting their careers and their reputation.
THAT is a whole lot harder to believe, a whole lot more ridiculous, than the idea that Yes Virginia the Good Lord DID create more than just us in His universe ... and in fact even the Bible mentions other beings.
Or maybe you think Gordon Cooper, one of the Mercury 7 astronauts, was a delusional liar of titanic proportions? Try reading his fascinating autobiography "Leap of Faith." I read it NEVER expecting any mention at all of UFOs (I was only interested in the Mercury 7 program history), and while the vast majority of the book is about other topics, he made it CRYSTAL CLEAR with detailed personal first-person accounts to illustrate WHY in his opinion, the US government has engaged in a very strong-armed calculated cover-up (which I don't blame them for doing -- people would flip out, mass panic, witness your own behavior). You can believe he's lying ... if you need to.
See, in my EXPERIENCE, the idea that he and so many others are lying or "mistaken" in what they saw, strains credulity WAY more than the idea of extraterrestrial life -- absent emotions and feeling threatened, that is. The only people who will allow their credulity to be that pushed, are SCARED of what they might have to accept otherwise.
Well, when you get piece of such a craft be sure to let us know.
My thoughts as a young teenager in the early 60's, and to this day. (I continued my quest all of my engineer days, and still have the same conclusion today as you do!)

(If any of you are the least bit curious, click on the scientific findings by Dr. Bruce Maccabee.)
Btw, do you know that the late Dr. Jesse A. Marcel was a member of the UFO ping list?
Dr. Marcell has gone, but his memory still lingers. His web site is still active as of this date: http://marceljr.com/
People like you really, really deserve a good swift kick in the ass when you have to resort to such insults of moral character, sanity, and intelligence in people like Gordon Cooper (not to mention my husband and his Marine son, who saw one together) in order to cling to your denial. THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU MUST DO to believe what you need to believe. It is a red flag!!!
You are TOO FRIGHTENED to be able to psychologically handle the idea of intelligent ET life, and my pointing out this obvious truth is VERY FAR from insulting your moral character, sanity, or intelligence.
Are you brave enough to seriously ask yourself why you must assume dishonesty, insanity, and/or rank stupidity ("It was really Venus!") on the part of very good and righteous people? Because assuming such grievous flaws is the ONLY way you can rationalize your opinion.
It's all about you, isn't it? You have to insult people in order to protect your own fragile outlook. Change your outlook and STOP insulting good people.
#71, irregardless of how you feel about me.
And when you get a piece of evidence to prove that the astronauts, Marines, scientists, pilots, policemen, etc. etc. who've seen these things and talked/written about it, are all certifiably loony, stupid, or liars ...
onedoug, be sure to let us know.
It isn’t how I feel about you. It’s what I KNOW about you.
Gordon Cooper's "Leap of Faith" -- if you'd read it, you'd know how stupid your #71 is.
Jesse Marcell Jr’s recollections of the Roswell incident remain some of the most compelling of that whole saga. He was about 12 at the time, and has recounted how his dad brought home fragments of strange materials and objects that exhibited properties far beyond the earth science of the day.
