In an amicus brief submitted to the Supreme Court in the case of Obergefell v. Hodges, which the court will hear tomorrow, the U.S. Department of Justice argues that state laws prohibiting two people of the same sex from marrying each other are unconstitutional.
In its argument to the court, DOJ approvingly cites a statement issued by the government relations office of the American Psychological Association that says: “There is no scientific basis for the assertion that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons are not fit to marry or to become parents of health and well-adjusted children.” …

This is the turning point for Christians in America. If this ruling is against Christians, it will mean that Christians take a hard line stance against the ruling, or accept the chains of slavery that will bind them.
It’s not up to the DOJ to conclude that two lesbians or two homosexual men would or would not be good parents.
I think that has already been taken care of, seeing as people of the same gender cannot conceive a child. There’s your sign.
Creation has decided that a man and a woman are to be parents.

Doesn’t every child deserve a FATHER and a MOTHER??? Do fathers and mothers bring different things to raising a child?? This DOJ is so destructive to the founding of our country and the fabric of our society.
Unfortunately, the argument is hurt by the fact that there are plenty of people who can have kids, who make terrible parents.
Of course there’s no scientific reason.
1. There isn’t enough of a sample to do any meaningful scientific research on the question.
2. It’s not a scientific subject anyway.
Sure - and how could adding perverts to the equation make things worse?
For sure there’s much more to parenting than being a man and woman, but that’s the start. If two people of the same sex were meant to be parents, they’d be able to conceive.
Parenting needs to be done under the wisdom and guidance of the creator.
How can they “become parents”?
Seems like the entire thirtieth chapter of Proverbs was written to describe them.
Doesn’t matter. All that matters is whether the Constitution says the Federal Government has the authority to deconstruct marriage and impose their own re-definition on the States.
Just imagine any scientist right now trying to test it. Double blind tests would be difficult. "Neither the scientist, baby or couple know whether they the parents are a same sex couple". But even trying to study this would go over like not delivering pizza to a gay wedding.
