Let me guess: We’re going back to pocket calculators and No. 2 pencils?

IT’s all good until the Russians figure out a virus to disable it. No system is safe.

"Could Kill Malware Forever" is a totally irresponsible phrase.

Apparently Microsoft really messed up when the built an OS that doesn’t crash, needs virtually no support because it actually works.

XP.

Would like to see an operating system that wreaks vengeance on the creators and purveyors of malware, spyware, and viruses.

I don’t really understand. How is this any different than the really annoying UAC popup every time I run a new executable in Win 8/7/etc? How does this block malware run through zips or porn that people download from random emails/websites?

Win8 really isn’t that bad once you get ClassicShell installed. The only problem I ever have is the different hotels I work at will use DNS poisoning on their networks, which messes up my computer connecting to other hotel networks. Sometimes have to restart 2-3 times to get the login splash page to even show up :/

I hope Microsofts Anti-Malware system works as good as my ZoneAlarm Security Suite and Malwarebytes.Haven’t had any problems with malware but if more computers were clean we wouldn’t be worried over malware infestations.

Soooo... AppLocker. AppLocker has been around for a while now. This is just old technology wrapped in a new name. It’s contingent upon companies to actually turn on the protections to make them work. Nothing is “native” in corporate Windows.

Except it won’t. As long as you let users install software you’ll never get rid of malware. Users are the unclosable security hole and are the primary vector malware uses.
