A parent and a juvenile have been arrested after an attack on a Long Island teacher that a group said left the educator unconscious for several minutes.
Authorities say the duo allegedly attacked the female math teacher Wednesday at Alverta B. Gray Schultz Middle School in Hempstead. [ ]
The parent, Annika McKenzie, pleaded not guilty to assault charges and is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
McKenzies attorney, Don Rollock, told NBC 4 New York that the parent came to the school because the teacher put her hands on her 12-year-old daughter. Teachers shouldnt lay their hands on kids, Rollock said.

I'm also a veteran high school teacher. I get threatened by urban high school students all the time. They gonna shoot me, stab me, end me, jump me, etc. My stock answer has always been, "You and whose army gonna do that?" Generally, it's all a bunch of hooey for the benefit of their fellow students in order to show off or gain street cred. My hands are usually too full of stuff to be carrying around a ring stand or anything like that. Let's see what this poor teacher's UNION does about this. Probably nothing, like most of them.
