Bigger burgers will be back on the menu at McDonalds, at least for a while.
McDonalds says its introducing a trio of Sirloin Third Pound burgers for a limited time starting later this month, the latest sign the chain is pushing to improve perceptions about the quality of its food.
The sirloin burgers would have the biggest beef patties on the chains menu and come after McDonalds dropped its Angus Third Pounders in 2013. At the time, some analysts said the Angus burgers were too pricey for McDonalds customers.
McDonalds says the sirloin burgers will cost around $4.99, although franchisees can determine their own prices.

Other words same size patty on a smaller bun.
I rarely eat at McD’s. I just bring in leftovers from home and nuke it at work.
Yeah, to me more of a really bad burger is not a selling point—and it doesn’t address complaints about food quality.
That kid would be obese no matter where he eats.......somebody on the home front is failing this kid...or he’s got a serious imbalance in his system.
Why, when clearly what their core customer wants is bottomless McNuggets?
Had a late night Big Mac a few months ago it was soooo awful, bread falling apart, overgooped special sauce, hardly any beef inside and it was pricey too. Gave me a little agita too. No thank you-- see ya Mickey D's burgers.
I always wanted them to make a big Mac using two quarter pounder patties, call it the Super Mac!
Somebody’s gotta program and maintain that thing...
but it won’t be a $15 per hour employee.
That would be too much for me...but guys would wolf it down with no problem!
Where r u located?
A double cheeseburger for 99 cents fills me up very well. Like I said, it’s just too bad I can’t taste the meat. And who’s talking about the American People? I’m talking about people who buy McDonald’s in the US! The overlap is probably only around 50%.
Why is that ridiculous? I’m explaining how the free market functions!
Legit concern. Rarely eat at McDonald's because their hamburgers are essentially tasteless. Their breakfast biscuits are OK and that's usually what I'm ordering anytime I visit a McDonald's. Which more often than not is at an airport ...
Cleveland-Akron.
Mcdonald’s would do a lot to improve it’s image if it would simply announce it is going to start selling food that tastes like food rather than cardboard.
All fast food burgers are too expensive. I’m certainly not going to pay $5 for a burger. Ordering off the kid/dollar menu is a better buy.
I had not eaten a a Wendy’s for several years, but had a 1/2 pound double’s while at two different airports overthe past 10 days. I forgat just how good they are. Just one is a full meal; and I’m not a little guy.
