Bigger burgers will be back on the menu at McDonalds, at least for a while.
McDonalds says its introducing a trio of Sirloin Third Pound burgers for a limited time starting later this month, the latest sign the chain is pushing to improve perceptions about the quality of its food.
The sirloin burgers would have the biggest beef patties on the chains menu and come after McDonalds dropped its Angus Third Pounders in 2013. At the time, some analysts said the Angus burgers were too pricey for McDonalds customers.
McDonalds says the sirloin burgers will cost around $4.99, although franchisees can determine their own prices.

Big macs are not all that “Big”... they are just a cheesebuger with an extra heel in between with an extra patty some lettuce and some 1000 island dressing, they use 10:1 meat patties that is 1/10th of a lb.
A quarter pounder 4:1 patty is a lot bigger since the patty shrinks less tyhan the 10:1 meat during cooking.

Sure as hell beats the Soviet alternative!!!!!
I will take a society that has the "problem" of obesity over one that has the problem of the breadline!

I oppose all the McDonald’s bashing I see; they provide decent food at very low prices for low-wage lunching workers. But seriously, McDonald’s? It’s not the 1/4 lb vs 1/3 lb or anything like that: the burgers just don’t taste like meat.

Probably not. They’ll just be more generous with the pink slime.

I think I would blame the parents rather than what that picture attempts to convey.

The place has become too expensive for what it is. Plus the burgers are dry as hell.

Or they could bundle the Quarter Pounder and the Filet-O-Fish and call it:
Surf-n-Turf, sorta

How about cleaners restaurants and nicer employees and employees that don’t look like they are going to stab me.

Personally, I love a Quarter pounder and fries, and eat it maybe 3 times a year.

I agree! I haven't eaten a burger there in almost thirty years. I did have some McNuggets a year or so back and thought they were globs of soggy cardboard dipped in batter.
But McDonald's is an American business, and I want business to succeed. If people like their food, great. Plus, liberals seem to hate the place, so I want it to succeed all the more.
My burgers on the backyard grill are still my preference, although there are chain restaurants that do some good burgers 'n' fries.

I am with you. I always LOVED the burgers that they sold at the drive-in movie theaters. I think they were 100% soybean product, but had that “char-grilled” flavor.

Except the food isn’t decent, and the price isn’t very good. They’re behind the curve, fastfood has gotten a lot better, the American people are no longer willing to eat crap because it’s quick.

MINE!! don't TOUCH!
na, actually I usually feed the wife and three of the four kids with it. Not a bad occasional meal for $10 when you're running and don't have time to cook.
To: AppyPappy
They’re tasting capitalism as sales keep dropping because the competition makes better products for similar prices in a more pleasant environment. McD’s really needs to pull a Dominos, come right out and admit their food is crap and they’re fixing it. It’s worked pretty well for them.
