A Fresno Firefighter injured while fighting a fire is in the hospital with a future of many surgeries.
Won’t you join all us in prayers for his complete recovery.
I honor all First Responders!
Rather confusing title. I had to look twice.....
Of course not, because it might get in the way of your agenda. Just like a liberal, close your mind to anything that might interfere with your narrative.
If your house ever catches fire, let's hope your local fire department is not understaffed.
BTW, firefighters have saved many lives performing paramedic functions.
Are you the jerk in the video?
.................................
That’s out of line. His post was factual and on point with a government out of control.
Yes. Queen Pelosi the First.
BTW, firefighters have saved many lives performing paramedic functions.
..................................................
So why not just have paramedics respond to calls involving an illness or injury? Why firemen also?
post 8 was in response to post 6.
If his house was burning to the ground he might not mind the extra wait for the firefighters to get back to the station before an engine can be dispatched, but I would.
What an ass. Kudos to the man taking the video! Sure would like to see a followup!
it’d probably be wrong to hope his house catches fire. Yep, that’d probably be wrong...
Does he run an HOA in his spare time?
He’s pissed because his favorite fireman from the calender isn’t there
And they also risk their lives running into burning buildings to save people that they do not know. In fact, 343 of them died on one day trying to save people knowing full well that the job was one they may not come out alive from. I do not think that men who can die while doing their job or suffer debilitating injuries such as burns are overpaid. They make less money than public school teachers.
Firefighters also respond to automobile crashes, people stuck in elevators, medical emergencies because often times an ambulance cannot respond fast enough, high altitude rescues such as window washers whose equipment fails, carbon monoxide alerts, and an assortment of other emergencies.
Wish you had taken the test, huh?
The paramedics main function is rendering rudimentary first aid and transporting a patient to the nearest hospital. If there is a car wreck, for example, firefighters will have the equipment to get the patient out of the car. If the patient needs to be lifted into the ambulance, the one or two paramedics may not be able to lift the person up, especially if it is an obese person. Sending just the paramedics could result in the person dying.
A few years ago, somebody in my neighborhood had a tree fall on them. Good thing the fire department showed up as well as the firefighters with their crowbar were needed to help lift the tree off of the guy.
My former father in law was fire chief and a tiny little rural department that seemed to be the epicenter of everything bad. 2 fireworks factory explosions in a matter of a couple of years that killed a bunch of people. US 12 across southern Michigan takes a hell of a toll and most accidents are bad ones. There was a fire that killed 4 young children that he responded to that really messed with him for a while.
In one night in that really tiny town a neighbor shot and killed his ex wife, her boss, both of her parents and himself. Then as nearly the entire fire department from the neighboring town was helping out, the house right next door to their department burned and killed 7 people. Just a freak thing that no one could have ever expected.
Firefighters see very bad things, and they see people at their worst. First responders, no matter what field they work in, are amazing people. I thank God that people like them take their oath seriously and are there if and when I need them.
My son is a volunteer firefighter. They take trucks out in this neck of the woods, to keep them started and moved. So the trucks goes out on all the errands.
Why can’t they shop and buy food while off duty and bring in a couple bags of food when their shift starts?
They have storage and refrigerators at the fire house, no?
Should we be paying government workers to go shopping in government vehicles?
I worked with a carpenter, in construction, who was once a volunteer firefighter in his spare time. Until.......they responded to a traffic accident where the convertible hit by another vehicle flipped and skidded in its (non-existent) roof for many, many yards.
Guess who was tasked with righting it and dealing with the gory results.
He didn't have his heart in it after that.
“The paramedics main function is rendering rudimentary first aid”
Really....rudimentary? The one phrase shows you are just talking out your ass. Probably a chest thumping fireman.
Overpaid is an understatement.
These are government employees who are mostly unionized.
These are highly lucrative jobs with top shelf benefits and lottery style retirement pensions.
And they all know it.
