The aliens could mask their ship’s warp signature by remodulating its plasma injectors. Everybody knows that.
To: BenLurkin
Spock was doing that over 40 years ago

Oh thank God.
This has been on my mind for the last two weeks...almost like a vision.
P.S. They're very tall

So if someone detects gamma rays he can say that it shows there was a spaceship. Keeps the grant money flowing.

I want the USA back
(Media: completely irresponsible. Complicit in the destruction of this country.)
To: BenLurkin
Assuming there are aliens out there.
To: bigbob
You probably mean doing that in 400 years from now. lol
To: BenLurkin

And how will this interact with relativity? Star Trek maintained the unreality of simultaneity. Any ship we detect could be millions of years old.
To: BenLurkin
How about technology to detect illegal aliens crossing into the US.

Yes, in Steven Spielberg's vision of aliens they are all touchy-feely pervs!

Unless you use the same stoiciometric ratio on the after burners you’re just wasting your time.

Nice concept, but can detect only craft from same or similar tech level to ours. Everybody else uses FTL drives of different sorts. The really high civilizations, just step through from place/world to place/world.

Spock was doing that over 40 years ago But light signals associated with that event will not reach our galaxy for another four gigaparsecs (sic ;).
