The still-life watercolour was painted when Adolf Hitler was in his mid-twenties, and sold by his Jewish art dealer Samuel Morgenstern, who was later sent to the Lodz Ghetto...
...The Telegraph's art critic Alastair Smart says of the piece, "The work is of no intrinsic, artistic worth whatsoever. The only vague point of interest might be that, unlike the iffy watercolours of Vienna city we associate with Hitler the painter, this rarity is an iffy watercolour of a pitcher of azalias."...
...Hitler moved to Munich in 1913, having been unable to make a living as a painter.
The Nazis later seized Morgenstern's gallery, and he was deported to the Lodz Ghetto, where he died in 1943. This flower painting has Morgenstern's stamp on the back.

Been reading Harlan Ellison have you?
groan.... but funny....
“I wonder if Obama is artistic.”
Autistic.
Well...
at the very least, he painted pictures...
Stalin, on the other hand, just had them erased... especially if you were one of his generals in a portrait. And then not only were YOU erased, he had your family erased as well.
But hey... national socialists are ALWAYS worse than international socialists...
“...Like George Costanza, frustrated architect? All he needed was his own Vandalay industries...”
Or a Marine Biologist... “The sea was angry that day, my friends...”
“Nazi see” is saying it twice.
It would be more accurate to say “I did Nazi that coming”.
Now... if only more people had bought his paintings...
Pretty good, considering it was decades before photoshop.
He does seem to live in his own little world. It would explain a lot.
“Stalin, on the other hand, just had them erased.”
Stalin had a “ Million Man” eraser..
Say what you will the Austrian bunker boy knew how to paint....
Look at the grin on Molotov’s face, behind Stalin. He was an evil little bastard too.
And the erased guy looks like a demented gnome.
What REALLY happened there is, Stalin pushed the guy over the wall into the Volga... “Look Comrade!!! I make Joke!”
25+ million Ukrainians kulaks would whole-heartedly agree with you.
Too bad one of those Russian generals didn’t put a bullet through Stalin’s head and save some lives.
Stalin like Mao was pretty effective at taking care of possible threats.
“...decades before photoshop. ...”
They had their OWN version... Not Photoshop, it was called “Comrade Chop!”
(baddaBING!)
Lord, I didn’t know Molotov lived into the 80’s.
The erased guy was Nikolai Yezhov, Head of the NKVD.
He was arrested on trumped up charges but under interrogation admitted to lots of homosexual activity and alcohol abuse.
Stalin had Molotov’s Jewish wife arrested and sent to a gulag.
RE Threats:
True enough... but you know there had to be times SOMEONE with a gun was nearby.
Guts were what was required.
But he had a lot of “True Believers” too.
None of these clowns - Stalin, Mao, Hitler, etc., did it alone.
The Telegraph’s art critic Alastair Smart says of the piece, “The work is of no intrinsic, artistic worth whatsoever.
...
Which describes most “art” that sells for a fortune. All that matters is the fame of the artist and the rarity of the work.
“Stalin like Mao was pretty effective at taking care of possible threats. “
Yeah, if you kill almost EVERYBODY, your chances for political survival increases : )
Rafael Trujillo of the DR is a seemingly rare example of a dictator who was assassinated by his own generals.
