Buy one. It is the most fun you will have over 30. Or 40. Or 50.
Beautiful. Is that a concept Jeep?
It was a few years ago.
So I’ve mentioned it to my wife a couple of weeks ago and it didn’t get shot down. The price of used ones are almost as much as new. Still holding my cards and shopping around.
Just curious about your aversion to eBay.
I’ve bought and sold tens of thousands $$ in car parts plus a half dozen complete vehicles, essentially without any problems.
Is it on the FR sh!tlist for some reason?
If you see an old military one, you are lucky. In the 80s, I worked on the ranges and we uses them all the time. They would go anywhere—simply the best 4x4 ever!
Sad thing was that we also had to “demil”in-the-crate jeeps. We started out cutting them in half, but people just welded them back together. Eventually, they had us running M60s over them and selling only to scrappers. I despise Ralph Nader and the nanny state that he engendered!
Took my longbed F350 crew cab up La Plata canyon in 2013. It is gorgeous up on top. Four mule deer hung around pretty close to us. Saw four guys on Harleys try that road—they, ummm, gave up and turned around. Talked to two babes in a Jeep who had made the loop drive and were coming down the canyon. They said it was a cool route but my truck was to big to do it.
I really need to go back to the Rockies on another vacation.
Concepts that Jeep will never build.
Why? Because they're too damn cool.
My wife is great, I love her so much.
She encouraged me to get my Jeep and classic cars.
I gave her the big house and gardens, but then, it is a trade off.
Tell your wife you can Camp in the Jeep. Really. It is Tons of Fun! I am not BSing you.
I found one for $5000. Looked in pretty good shape except for being almost entirely covered in leftist bumper stickers. Alas I had not the cash, would have enjoyed grinding those off.
BANTUM Started it All,
Willies helped and
Then FORD Ran with It.
Oh I hate you so much Martin.
I despise old Ralphie too.
2011 JKU Rubicon here.
A ‘Hog Jeep!? Oh yeah! My old bones would be all in for that one!
and Yes I have a 2005 TJ dressed to Kill
The local reenactment crowd whom I haven’t visited in a couple of years had one or two. Another sits at Owens airfield with the restored B25.
The pickup version of the CJ seems like a slam dunk. Can’t understand why it hasn’t come back. Can’t be that much tooling investment.
says the plant is at capacity, but seems like they could pull off more capacity somehow.
Rich boy! 2008 here. You will never regret it. Ever. To add the Dana axels would have cost you $4-5 Grand alone. You were smart.
