Secretary of State John Kerry compared himself to Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln and other great historical luminaries for having the courage and tenacity to tackle the most heinous enemy plaguing mankind — climate change.
“My heroes are people who dared to take on great challenges without knowing for certain what the outcome would be,” Kerry said in an address to the Atlantic Council on Thursday.
“Lincoln took risks, Gandhi took risks, Churchill took risks, Dr. King took risks, Mandela took risks, but that doesn’t mean that every risk-taker is a role model.”

The key to understanding progressive idiots like Kerry is to remember that each and every one of them is a living, breathing Walter Mitty.
In their own fevered minds they are fighting the good fight against Nazis and evil Christian fundamentalists and Neanderthal Confederate Repugnican Tea Party Hater Extremist Flat-Earthers (but to them they’re all one and the same).
They have fragile personalities and must constantly have their egos stroked in order for them to maintain what passes for sanity. Since normal people instinctively regard them as the mental basket cases that they are, it’s rare for them to garner sufficient adulation from the unwashed hordes around them, and so instead they must fill in the gap by constantly praising themselves for their own wisdom, courage, and intelligence.
