prayer request for my son
3/8/2015 | self

Posted on 03/08/2015 12:37:13 PM PDT by heartwood

Please pray for my son. He is suffering terribly from bipolar disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder, in a state of torment and fear. He is a deeply religious young man, and he believes he is possessed in some way - which I do not see in him at all. Yet he may be under attack from the outside.

Please pray for his deliverance from the ills of mind and spirit, from protection against any evil spirits that might assail him. Pray that his psychiatrist and his priests may be guided to help him.

We are in no danger from him - he is suffering so much and trying so hard to endure.

It has been a horrible year for us in terms of mental illness - my brother and my husband's sister have been affected as well. We never dreamed it ran so strong in the family, and on both sides too. God have mercy.

Prayers for your son’s mental well being, heartwood. Prayers for you and your family during this difficult time. May the Lord Heal his mind, comfort his body and soul and give him peace.

**I probably shouldn’t suggest this (since I am not a psychologist or psychiatrist) but could a blessing from a priest help him? I mean would your son feel that he has been blessed and that help his anxiety? When a relative was in the hospital, a priest did a blessing for the sick. Thus, it can be done. (((Hugs))) and prayers your way. Mom

Dear ones, prayers have been raised for you, your son and your entire family. I know from personal experience what you’re going through. It is such a difficult situation. Reassure him that he is loved by you and our Blessed Lord, make sure he takes his meds, keeps his mental health appointments, and that he stays away from any people who are negative. I send you and your son a hug and will continue to keep you in my prayers.

Prayers for your son, and your whole family.

There are some effective drugs for bi-polar conditions, if you’re into that, though oft times trial and error in hitting on the right type(s).

Please Lord....

May the One who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and our foremothers Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, and Leah, bless and heal this person, the son of heartwood. May the Holy One, blessed be God, be merciful and strengthen and heal him. Grant him a complete and speedy recovery—healing of body and healing of soul. And let us say: Amen.

One of the most beautiful works of the Messiah is healing the minds and spirits of those afflicted by what we understand as mental illness.

Do not assume anything about Bipolar Disorder (BP). Do not assume the person is not a harm to others or themselves.

On the other hand do not falsely diagnose BP as it is a veritable clinical disease that should only be diagnosed by experienced psychiatric doctors and staffs.

It is treatable but it is extremely dangerous. It is not the person’s fault. It is a brain disease where the affected has an epileptic type episode in which they do not remember what happened. During episodes of BP the affected can kill, maim others and themselves. All of it is beyond their control.

If the BP is moderate and the affected are under treatment and ***aware of their condition*** and can sense when episodes are coming, then they can take measures to keep stable and safe while the episode passes. Such persons can live among others without incident usually. But they should tell friends, community members and co-workers of their condition.

I will pray for your son but please educate yourself and him to be sure of a proper diagnosis and treatment. Sometimes treatments are trial and error until the right treatment combination is found that works. Keep trying and don’t give up.

Heavenly Father, We pray for this boy asking that You heal his body, mind and spirit. Please bring peace, comfort and great hope to this family. Give them wisdom, understanding and direction on what to do. Thank You for hearing our prayers. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Prayers for your son, you and your family and all those struggling with mental illness. Mental Illness is especially heartbreaking, may you be blessed with some sign that there is the light of Easter at the end of the tunnel.
