All the awards have been given out and it looks like the final numbers for the 87th Oscars are in. Running from 8:30 PM to 11:48 PM ET last night, the Neil Patrick Harris hosted show garnered a 10.8 rating among adults 18-49 with 36.6 million viewers. Among the key demo thats a 17% drop from what the final ratings for the 2014 Academy Awards were and the worst the AMAPAS ceremony has done since 2008.That show had a 10.68 rating. The total viewership for last nights Oscars were down 18% from last year to hit a 6-year low. The 2009 Oscars had a total audience of 36.6 million. Now, the numbers for the 2015 Oscars could see further adjustment, as they did last year but lets just say, its pretty certain they wont be going up to 2014 or 2013 levels.

I guess no one wants to watch a fag in his underwear.
Good.
I have not had tv since 1997, but even when I did I said, “I’ll watch hollywood’s award ceremonys when they watch my industy’s award ceremonys.
We turned it off.
Global warming.
It’s really just a fashion show.
Nothing for the American movie?
If I want to sit and be preached at for 3 hours, I go to Church.
Nope, definitely not.
I’d rather watch an off TV than the Oscars in America 2015, hosted by this disgusting pervert.
I can’t figure out why anyone would think that anyone else would want to see such a man in his panties.
Luckily for me Ultimate Survival Alaska was also on, so I watched that instead.
Patricia Arquette’s speech was embarrassing. What was she thinking?
I got to a.point at which I don’t know who these actors and actresses are. They nominate movies I have never heard of and haven’t seen. They insert inane political statements, always from a liberal point of view, into jokes and acceptance speeches. Add it all up and its not must see TV for me.
And to think I missed Doogie Bowser in his underwear.......
I’m still amazed at how many here actually watch that bilge.
If Hollywood needed an audience, they wouldn’t be making the movies they do would they? :)
They make more money overseas than domestic these days.
I was rearranging my sock drawer.
No movies or people in contention that anybody wanted to watch.
The Oscars have become a self-parroting, insider, hypocritical joke. Why watch anymore.
The days of any style and class are long gone along with movie stars we really liked and cared about.
Most of the movies, with a few exceptions, are independent, Art house type movies that most people never see and frankly probably don’t care about.
When I was a kid growing up in the 1960’s and early 1970’s I loved watching the Oscars and I had seen most of the films up for awards. No longer though, just not fun and few really good actors out there.
It’s nothing but smug super-rich elitists basking in self-aggrandizing pageantry.
I don’t get why people obsess over it, are their lives that empty of meaning?
I’ve always heard homosexuals are,,shall we say, exhibitionists in some ways. Would anyone else have done this if not a homosexual, or if not for shock value? Was he showing off his bod to homosexual viewers and friends of his?? What the heck???
I’m too young to remember but have to believe the Oscars were not this way in 1960,or 1970.
