No movies or people in contention that anybody wanted to watch.

The Oscars have become a self-parroting, insider, hypocritical joke. Why watch anymore.

The days of any style and class are long gone along with movie stars we really liked and cared about.

Most of the movies, with a few exceptions, are independent, Art house type movies that most people never see and frankly probably don’t care about.

When I was a kid growing up in the 1960’s and early 1970’s I loved watching the Oscars and I had seen most of the films up for awards. No longer though, just not fun and few really good actors out there.

Same here. And in those days, there was no home video and precious few cable channels. Award shows and film retrospectives held more interest for me at a time in which the only way to learn about film was from books and the rare TV special. I am still a huge movie fan and still collect Blu-rays and DVDs, mostly of films made before 1980. I have virtually no interest in today's movies or "stars".
