HOLLYWOOD, California—A planned protest over the lack of diversity in the film industry by Al Sharpton’s National Action Network (NAN) has been canceled. The group will instead seek direct dialogue with Hollywood’s central authority, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

I remember them complaining about some historical character being portrayed by a white actor. The fact that the character actually was White did not bother them a bit.
You see, the character has often been portrayed as Black.

They must have read the anonymous Oscar voter who said essentially said "Selma" was nothing special with decent production values, but had it been made by a white guy, it would have gone straight to video.
That, and the cast showing up for the premiere in NYC wearing "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" t-shirts didn't help didn't exactly endear them to Academy voters that actually take their votes seriously about their "art".
