My son was born in Nova Scotia. He died an IS extremist in Syria. (Blowing chunks alert!)
The Globe and Mail ^ | Tuesday, Feb. 17 2015 | CHRISTIANNE BOUDREAU

Christianne Boudreau has campaigned about the recruitment and radicalization of young people in Calgary and across Canada. She is currently involved in establishing Hayat Canada, a group which supports families to assist with deradicalization, and helping to form an international mothers’ organization for those whose children have fallen prey to violent extremism. A little more than a year ago, I received the news that no parent should ever have to hear. I was told my child had died.

The death of one so young is impossible to understand. For me, my son’s death was particularly incomprehensible. Damian was killed in Syria, fighting for an extremist group, aged just 22. But although he died thousands of miles away from home, the seeds of his radicalization were sown right here in Canada.

Damian became a Muslim when he was 17. Like many young people, he had experienced some difficult issues when growing up, and was trying to discover his own identity. Becoming a Muslim had a calming effect on him. I was happy too, because for the first time in a long while, he seemed content.

Why would he waste his life on ISIS when he could have been gooning it up down in the ECHL?

“Becoming a Muslim had a calming effect on him. I was happy too, because for the first time in a long while, he seemed content.”

And so it is with blind, brain-dead liberals! It’s all about those “FEELINGS”.....

his death should serve as a warming to other stupid youths who seek glory through murdering infidels.

And profoundly stupid Western women who marry or have sex and children with islamists.

I have no doubt that Damian went to Syria committed to helping others.

I have no doubt that you're wrong on that.

I don’t want any other young men die like my son...

On this point I guess we will have to agree to disagree. Because I want every young man who does what your son did to die EXACTLY the same way your son died.

I’ve often wondered if the ISIS attitude of fighting/winning (no matter how Satanic) and Obama’s attitude of non-interest and surrender has anything to do with attracting ISIS followers from the Western world. If George Patton was in control, I don’t think this would be happening.

“Becoming a Muslim had a calming effect on him. I was happy too,”

That was the problem right there. She was happy when he became a Muslim. All this stuff about it being a religion of peace is disgusting. Granted there are peaceful Muslims, but it’s in spite of their religion, not because of it. I admire the Egyptians and can understand them better than some convert to the religion. I think the moderates are mostly non religious, but they can’t admit it or they would be ostracized by family and neighbors.

We should be calling out the Muslim religion for what it is. It is a cult that survives on fear.

information and tools to be used to encourage discussion about radical groups, including Islamic and far right violent extremists

Typical liberal. She totally screwed up her son's upbringing, letting him become a Muslim, probably encouraging him. But it's all the right's fault.

I recommend you read it again. There is plenty of pap in there for those who know how to recognize it.

For instance: “I have no doubt that Damian went to Syria committed to helping others.”

Really? If this is true, then the woman is too stupid to pour water out of a boot with the instructions written on the heel, never mind “establish...a group which supports families to assist with deradicalization...”

Mom, in feeling bad about her kiddie’s death might try worrying about how many people he butchered, raped and tortured to death.

I understand the post and agree with your sentiments, however Queen’s homosexual theme song, along with “We are the champions”, and “We will rock you” scare me almost as much as the Muzzies do!

“Radicalization” is a red herring. Islam is the issue. “Radicalism” just means you got serious about following all the tenets of Islam.

Frankly, I don’t find what she iterated and explained int the link to this story to be liberal pap at all. Maybe I’m just too old and stupid to understand, but it didn’t read like pap to me.

You're not alone. Teens searching for an identity and place in the world are ripe recruits for Radical Islam. Good or bad, it offers them something to believe in, something to fight for. At a time when Western Civilization has become apologetic and emasculated, Radical Islam is passionate. They offer adventure in a foreign land, the opportunity to test oneself in battle, spoils for the victors. It's no surprise when confused Western youths gets swept up in this. As a parent, this is something we should all be concerned about. Eventually, my boys will be old enough to get a passport and a place ticket without my approval. I can only hope I've raised them to recognize when they're being taken advantage of.

IMHO-
In todays Military I doubt if their is one individual with the Blood & Guts to come close to shining, much less filling General Patton’s boots!
I see no promotions for anyone that fills that role!
We, presently, have no one willing to stand up and confront this bogus
POTUS.

Stay Safe!
