Carl Perkins, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Dave Edmunds, Rosanna Cash, and others rockabilly high [and they're thoroughly enjoying it]
(Excerpt) Read more at youtube.com ...
Also recognize Slim Jim Phantom from the Stray Cats playing drums.
Amazing! Where has this been hiding?
Thanks for posting.
I saw Carl for free at J and R Musicworld in NY, promoting a compilation. He played Blue Suede Shoes. I thought he looked awful. He died the next week.
“C’mon class let’s rock!”
What a line up
...And Lee Rocker on the upright bass.
I saw this when it originally played on hbo way back in the 80’s even taped it on the Betamax - still have the tape and just last week downloaded a couple tunes from that show on iTunes, so its odd that you’d mention it for me
Apparently Carl Perkins had an acting gig once.
Here he is in a knife fight to the death with David Bowie.
It’s what copywriters call an unlikely cast.

Fantastic! Thanks.

Thanks for sharing, brightened my day a whole lot!
Question for the Senator:
When will Congress and the rest of the Federal Bureaucracy adopt more stringent retirement plans?
After all, how many Congressmen, Senators, and senior GS employees have died or been seriously injured while “on duty” during the last 13 plus years?
I strongly suspect that the members of this commission have never spent any significant time at a small forward operating base. Living in battle raddle, eating cold MREs, and being shot at is very different from the environment senior officers and the Pentagon perfumed Princes live in.
This is the Modern Music Ping List. Our topic is music from the 20th and 21st century, from Ravel and Shostakovich through to the Synth Pioneers and beyond.
Topic suggestions are always welcome, and pings to music-related threads are appreciated.

I sent this to everybody on my list.
I titled it:
15 Minutes of Pure Joy!
Thank You, WhiskeyX.
I once owned that video tape and like a poster above saw some of it on YouTube recently.
Perkins was overwhelmed by the presence and participation of so many.
I really enjoyed that.
Thanks!
Whoa - what a set, man! As cool as it gets.
Please add me to ping. What year was this concert?
If you squint a bit you can see Brian Williams there, too.
