Here we go again... Doggy Lump As "Chicken Little."

Ooooohhhh! How terribly frightening! I'm way too scared to ever smoke again. Not MURDEROUS DICTATORS!

Yes, drugs and alcohol are exactly the same. There is no difference whatsoever between beer and heroin. None.

If only it worked.

A whole lot of people live in a world that is entirely different from yours. You don’t know anything about that world.

And the converse would also appear to be true.

When you’ve faced down an naked angry psychotic patient bloodied from the urinary catheter he’s managed to pull out of himself while waving his private parts (spurting blood) around yelling....”yeah come and get some”...then one starts to come to certain hardened conclusions as to what the drug and alcohol culture is really all about!

With all due respect, you've been immersed in the worst of the worst addicts for 28 years. It is not exactly representative of what the "drug and alcohol culture" is about. If I go through life having a glass of red wine with my prime rib on Friday nights, I may be part of the "drug and alcohol culture" but I'm probably not going to wind up in your facility.

"Drug advocates practice a form of Taqqaiyah more devilish than any Imam has ever muttered!"

Hyperbole much? You sound clinically deranged.

"There is no difference whatsoever between beer and heroin."

Sure there is. Beer kills way more people every year.

Yeah...they keep saying stuff like that and I keep seeing the wasted shattered lives, dodging the blows of the psychotic drug addled patients and on occasion sending bodies to the morgue.

Sarah Brady has the same claim of authority to talk about gun control. Can you explain why we should listen to you, but not her?

That is a reasonable conclusion to draw from #127. I applaud your candor.

I think what many people are failing to understand is that different people have different reactions

That broad generalization appears to be the justification for regulating human nature and all sorts of human behaviors, such as is done with gun control or alcohol prohibition. I'm sure you can come up with many others, good, bad and ugly.

I prefer the form of freedom that is based upon individual responsibility, with individuals accepting the consequences for their own actions, over the police state that regulates freedom and mandates "state accepted" human behaviors and can then violate the Bill of Rights whenever it feels so justified.

Fwiw,

Early history (pre-1850s)

The Virginia Company, by decree of King James I in 1619, ordered every colonist to grow 100 plants specifically for export. Thus, England's only colony in America began to grow hemp in order to meet this obligation and, soon, to serve a growing demand in other colonies.

George Washington grew hemp at Mount Vernon as one of his three primary crops.

The use of hemp for rope and fabric was ubiquitous throughout the 18th and 19th centuries in the United States.

Medicinal preparations of cannabis became available in American pharmacies in the 1850s following an introduction to its use in Western medicine by William O'Shaughnessy a decade earlier in 1839.

I think it's interesting how we in the land of the free have gone from one pole of acceptance to the other poles of criminalization and regulation about plants like marijuana and tobacco.

Too bad we've failed at regulating our need to regulate, control and criminalize based upon the whims and loud voices of a few.

I have chunks of steaming, self-absorbed skank-stank like him in my stool.

Oh wow. Another well reasoned and brilliantly argued response. I for one believe that the future leadership of the nation belongs to men who aspire to this degree of eloquence; our current President being but one prominent example. I believe he dabbled in the weed a bit too. He is very successful as well, I might add.

Lack of sleep has a direct effect on the decision making processes of the brain; is government therefore authorized to set adults' bedtimes?

When you can make "lack of sleep" a consumed ingredient, you will have a point. Currently it stands as an unavoidable consequence for some people.

And avoidable for others, "consumed" by e.g. freely choosing to stay up late; does government criminalization have a legitimate role there? Or do you pick your "principles" to fit your predetermined conclusions?

Lol

Absolute bullshite

I will go on record here having been in the same room with folks smoking butter wax or shatter or errl or dab

Or whatever the eff youd like to call it

It does not make One high more than a day...4-7 hours as usual

Intense buzz followed by decline and munchies and maybe drowsiness depending on strain

The comments I see here on pot day after day are comic book

I smoked enormous amounts of Colombian and later sense bud and hash and oil etc for 20 years daily in 70s and 80s

Pot is somewhat stronger now do you smoke less...

I don’t think it should be open legal for several reasons

But you guys are laughable and carrying on crazy having never smoked it

So I ask you.....who’s really high?

Anybody here want to challenge my politics....peruse my posting history here including my big zot and be specific please

Folks here are just clueless

The social ills of weed are far less than drinking but on FR we cheer drinking with virtual bars

As I grew older I learned only one high I really liked.....girls...sex....nothing else is even close

But Yall roll on with all this zany 60s era hysteria

I detest loud drinking

I detest duh stoners

I detest non stop blabbing coke snorters

I detest Non stop rubbery feel good pill heads

But of all those pot is least a public health issue
