MALIBU, Calif. Gender-bender reality-TV star Bruce Jenner rear-ended a car Saturday, causing an accident that killed a woman motorist.
Seven other people were injured in the accident, which happened shortly after noon on the Pacific Coast Highway near its intersection with Corral Canyon Road.
Jenners dark blue Cadillac Escalade was towing a dune buggy in a trailer when he rear-ended a white Lexus sedan being driven by an elderly woman.

It has intersections and this accident happened just short of one.
If the driver of the lead car slammed on his brakes for no reason, he caused the accident.
... looking forward to seeing how Johnnie Cochran (The Nipsy Russel of lawy) performs post mortem.
Wrong again. One is required to follow at a safe distance so one can stop in time of a sudden event. Just because someone slams on their brakes, does not give you the right, or the excuse to rear end or blame them.
Yesterday I saw an article with a whole series of pictures starting where Bruce Jenner was a few feet behind the white car. In that one to me it definitely looked like he was on a cell phone with his right hand.
Because the picture sequence started before the actual collision my guess is that, that intersection has cameras installed on it to catch people going through the light.
At a minimum it will probably be a “jobs program” for California attorneys. With a quarter million of them, they need the work...
She rear ended a black Prius.
TMZ is now reporting that he was smoking a cigarette, not texting. Also they are saying there was another car in front of the woman’s and that car may have stopped short triggering the collisions. I just still don’t understand how this poor woman was killed, although the front of the car was totally destroyed it seems the main part is still basically intact, and the air bags deployed so I’m very surprised she was killed.
She was quite elderly, in her seventies, maybe that contributed? There were also a lot of children involved, one in the woman’s car and I think 5 in the humvee including a three month old infant.
Pretty scary the whole situation.
Thank you.
That does seem to make Jenner’s case worse.
That Escalade has all kinds of collision avoidance, lane departure, radar cruise control, etc. Easy to be inattentive.
So now I said Bruce Jenner had a "right" to slam into the car in front of him.
Honesty isn't your strong suit, is it?
The tabloids tore apart the photos today.
He was definately smoking a cigarette. There was no phone.
It was a cigarette. They went back and looked.
No, those pictures were taken by paparazzi who were following Jenner. Five cars of them. Not chasing, but following. They set up at the intersection and were snapping away and saw the whole thing. What remains to be seen is if they had any effect on the woman’s driving.
Take a closer look at the picture.
First, notice the woman in the white car. She is in movement, reacting, whereas, Bruce is not.
SECONDLY, and more importantly, notice the road and notice the background. The cars are in perfect focus, while the foreground and background are slightly blurred. I would say the photog was using a very fast shutter speed and following the movement of the Escalade. Thus what was actually moving appears clear and what was still appears fuzzy.
Lastly, if the woman in the white vehicle was the one killed...that throws the timing of Bruthie calling the cops, out the window.
In addition, if you look on the street you can see painted on the street a warning of intersection/stop/crosswalk ahead.
The vehicle he rear ended was right at the limit line or very close to the intersection, which would mean if the they had the red light, the vehicle that was rear ended was braking for the intersection.
I’d guess her age contributed to it..even with the belt and air bag this was a pretty high g impact..an H2 gvw probably near 8000#
Your right. He’s holding a cell phone.
