King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein of Jordan. The Warrior King

We need a President like this, from the King's website:

In 1980, King Abdullah entered the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom, where he received his military education.

King Abdullah attended Oxford University in 1984, undergoing a one-year Special Studies course in International Politics and World Affairs. Upon returning home, His Majesty continued his military path, gaining experience and working his way to the rank of Captain and the Commander of a Tank Company in the 91st Armored Brigade. From 1986-1987, also as Captain, His Majesty was attached to the Royal Jordanian Air Force’s Helicopter Anti-Tank Wing as a Tactics Instructor, where he received qualification as a Cobra Attack Helicopter Pilot.

In 1987, King Abdullah attended the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and was in residence as a Mid-Career Fellow. He undertook Advanced Study and Research in International Affairs under the auspices of the Master of Science in Foreign Service Program.

Upon returning home, His Majesty was assigned to the 17th Tank Battalion, 2nd Royal Guards Brigade and in the summer of 1989, he became Battalion 2nd-in-Command, with the rank of Major. In 1991, King Abdullah was the Armor Representative in the Office of the Inspector General. He was promoted to Lt. Colonel at the end of the year and assumed command of the 2nd Armored Car Regiment in the 40th Brigade.

Upon handing over the battalion in January 1993, King Abdullah was promoted to full Colonel and assigned as deputy commander of the Jordanian Special Forces. In June 1994 he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General, and assumed command of the Royal Jordanian Special Forces, after having served as Deputy Commander for six months. His Majesty was appointed Commander of the Special Operations Command on October 1997, and in May 1998, he was promoted to the rank of Major General.

With those qualifications, Obama isn’t qualified to clean Abdullah’s toilet. I’m surpised Abdullah even agreed to meet with him.

...the king is a direct decedent of Mohammed.

Yes, he is. (And I've always thought that if it came to it, the Oxbridge-educated Hashemite Kings of Jordan would make splendid Caliphs -- his lineage gives him reason to abhor upstart claimants to the Caliphate, and is probably part of why Jordan is in the coalition against the Daish.)

Quite a contrast, Muslim King Abdullah was educated in Western Universities and he shows respect for western values. Obama, also Muslim by birth, was educated as Muslim in Indonesia and while in American universities he choose as his mentors Marxist and haters of the American values because they were not in compliance with the “holy “ Koran and his Marxist principles.

Good point. But as I’ve said on other threads, Jordan really had no interest in getting involved in any of these U.S. led military campaigns over there. Jordan’s main interest is stability in neighboring countries, which is something the U.S. has been undermining for decades.

Well...supposedly he’s on the top ten AntiChrist candidates list. He has “Roman” blood via his mother.

I have read that he is highly studied on military history & warfare/tactics. This whole ISIS situation could open up Psalm 83 finally.

Maranatha!

I never fail to be fascinated about so many possibilities in a person being the embodiment of prophecy.

>His reaction indicates this is more of a personal matter of honor than a war on fundamental islam.<

.
I don’t think that, in the whole wide world, you will find a Muslim wage a war on fundamentalist Islam.

Before they can do that, they will first have to deny the Koran and no Muslim leader can do that and get away with it.

Muzzies could become acceptable citizens of the West if they just did not cling to the Satanic Verses and let go of the hatred of non-muslims.

But, until that time, expect another 9/11 and another, and another, until the West wakes up from its coma.

Is he the one who is married to an attractive American woman?

I saw that others provided an answer to the question, just to further, Queen Rania is not American. Not sure if this was made clear, previously, if so, pardon the redundancy.

Thanks to all!

A friend of mine did Special Forces training with Abdullah back in the day. They remain good friends. My friend thinks very highly of the King.

A warrior leader sounds good to me. Just compare the effectiveness of Bush, Bush, Reagan and Ford to Obama, Clinton, and Carter. I know, I know, Carter was in the navy. However, he spent all of WWII driving a little boat around the Caribbean.

I was very aware of King Abdullah’s background in combined arms and special forces. Also heard that he has trained with U.S. Green Berets and SEALs on their training missions in Jordan. I would imagine he knows quite a few ways to kill an ISIS fighter, with or without weapons.

However, I did not know about his qualification as an attack helicopter pilot. His father, King Hussein, was a very skilled aviator who was flew everything from choppers to wide-body airliners.

Best of the luck to King Abdullah and his military. Nice to see someone who doesn’t lead from behind.

43rd generation. I wonder if they use ancestry.com to keep track of all that. LOL
