I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?
Years ago, when I worked for Greyhound, a rancher came into the depot from one of the cattle ranches in the mountains. He had a large stainless container that resembled a milk can and asked me to ship it to St. George.
I asked what was in it, as per the directions of package shipping, and he kind of stammered, turned bright red and said it was “liquid hydrogen.”
I told my boss about it the next day when he came in and he laughed and said it was something only bulls could produce...
But I guess ya had to be there...
The checkmark and the word PRIME next to the price at Amazon... does that mean people with Amazon Prime can get my book without paying extra?
Q.: What Is Amazon Prime?
A.: Amazon Prime is a paid service that gives Amazon shoppers a few distinct advantages. Members of Amazon Prime are eligible for free two-day shipping on any item, without a minimum-order balance. (Otherwise, free shipping requires a $35 minimum purchase.) The service also gives members access to one free Kindle book to borrow (from a pool of about 350,000 selections) each month, lets them use the streaming-video service Amazon Prime Instant Video and allows them to stream music via Amazon Prime Music. Users in select areas can also access Prime Now, which allows same-day delivery of certain Amazon products.
My regular coffee mug is 24 oz...
Of course, some people (notably the ones who print brewing directions on coffee cans - 'for each cup of coffee use 6oz. of water') still think a cup of coffee is 6 oz. That can't even be right in the real world since a 'cup' is 8 oz..
In accordance with those facts, if I'm brewing a cup of coffee I fill the measuring carafe to the 4 cup mark...
Keeping tears inside floods your brain. They’ll stop when they’re ready.
I don’t see that happening any time soon. I can’t remember being so doggone weepy. And I’m not a crier. I just don’t cry, period. So the rare times when I do I get very worried about myself, and this “thing” is very upsetting for me on several levels.
thanks!
BTW- Raining again.
Canyon Lake was 927 at 3:30pm (909 is full pool) and 943 is the start of the flood zone, 945 is “better swim”.
Another free shorty short story on my blog
“Frozen Ship” (not really sci-fi though)
http://flscifi.blogspot.com/2015/05/short-story-frozen-ship.html
It had some relaxing parts, but it was busy! I didn’t do anything toward the church projects I brought along. Usually we have some rainy days when we’re stuck in the house, but that didn’t happen this week.
I’m still trying to find something to keep my mind occupied. I need to get the files from the external hard drive but I don’t know how at the moment.
If I could just get over being so hurt and generate some anger, I think I would be OK. But the pain never seems to end, and I don’t know what to do with it.
Are you still interested in knitting/crocheting? I've always thought that was a calming activity, as long as you don't have cats.
LOL!
I still do the knitting and crocheting, but when I’m upset, I make a lot of mistakes, and that’s discouraging, as I have to rip out the offending rows and do them over. Much harder in knitting than in crocheting.
But thanks for the suggestion. I appreciate it.
I think that’s why it’s calming.
Supposedly, golf works that way too. I never knew it had a purpose.
I really need something that forces me to concentrate. Handcrafts don’t require that much (for me, anyway) so I need something less frustrating.
Times have changed since hand crafted items were my therapy of choice. CFIDS did that for me. Insidious disease to deal with under any circumstances, but now? I’m drowning.
Word searches?
I do Sudoku.
Pat does sudoko. They found some puzzle books in the rental house - kept them occupied whenever there was downtime.
You could sign up for Khan Academy and do very much maths instruction. Pat is learning trigonometry, which I took in high school and again in college and don’t remember anything.
I think trigonometry is a little beyond the skill set needed for sudoku.
LOL ArGee!
