They ran out of ideas during the first run.
Go look at conspiracy theories on u-tube.....endless and hilarious.
That's another show that went down the wrong trail with a storyline and got lost, just like X-Files.
Definitely, and it’s hard despite the show being dated, for me to be entertained by conspiracy stuff. In fact, it’s hard to beat X-Files, even now, when it is on Netflix.
Time for some new ideas.
I agree, first couple seasons were good when they mixed things up. I quit watching when they went full Roswell.
Anderson came out as a lesbian.
After that I’m not sure if I can again buy the whole sexual tension thing between those two again.
But so much has happened since then that's bizarre or unexplainable that there will be plenty of new ones.
This time do an episode on the Good People!
The incest episode w/mom under the bed creeped me out!
That had to be one of the creepiest...right up there with the side show character who carried his “twin” on his chest.
Peter Boyle episode always stood out to me as one of the best acted.
It went downhill, IMO, after Duchovny left...I liked those 3 conspiracy theorists (I think they were called The Lone Gunmen), and thought story lines that included them were good.
The Burt Reynolds episode was a refreshingly weird break from the UFO storyline.
Bush v. Clinton and an X-Files “re-boot” with the original stars?
No thanks, been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
Do you mean “Home”? With Sheriff Andy Taylor?
Google the episode of “the Lone Gunman” where they said that the government would fly planes into the World Trade Center fully one year before 9/11....the show got yanked right after that
They ran out of ideas during the first run.
they have Obama now, there’s enough material for 10 seasons
After what they did to the show in the last few seasons?!
The first couple were genius television, then they just phoned it in, and left us with pure slop, with a plot that was too sci-fi even for the X-files.
However, I think TV storytelling has become so good these days, that a new X-files can be a hit if they keep the writing tight.
