I do it myself with no help. I have found that the camera function of my tablet helps with cutting the back, as I don’t have a hand mirror.

Man, I was around back then.

At least there was a culture to disagree with, even despise.

Now, thuggery, dependency, victimology, degeneracy, relativism of every kind, scope and degree...truly I have never been as disgusted by, and dispirited about, America and American culture as I am at present.

Maybe you are talking mostly about fashion and entertainment and so on...still, I think now is as bad as it can get before upheaval or collapse.

And those bell bottoms that laced in the front but, particularly the ones that laced in the back...

A short-lived style, sadly.

In the early 70’s for young women, the look was straight hair, ... like Marsha Brady.

In 1971, the shag hairstyle was all the rage. The big decision of the summer was: were you going to get your long straight hair cut before or after your senior pictures? I opted for after. My hairstyle in my senior picture was long and straight... like Julie from Mod Squad (who I was told I looked like). That fall I got my first long shag and I've had it layered to some extent ever since.

Now, THATS a stylin' hair cut! Sported one like this most of my 20's and 30's. Sometimes white walled the sides and a little longer on top. Classic crew cut. Now I've got too few hairs on my head to pull this off.

Poor Andy. Hard to believe the last surviving brother is the oldest. Watched all of his younger brothers go before him. :(

The most amazing thing about this series of photographs (aside that it started at all) is that the continuity persisted over all these years.

All it took was one, to disable the entire great idea.

I will study this series later and check their "look" and body language to try to guess which one was the biggest problem.

I am not assuming it was the oldest.

It is pretty amazing. I don’t know if they all live close by that they can get together at any time or what.

Yup—they used to use soup cans for straightening curlers.

An early Star Trek pilot episode, from the looks of it.

Nah, more British. Take a look at "UFO", that gem of the BBC. The one with the chicks that had purple hair. Sort of like Star Trek meets Austin Powers.
